    Trans fluid .

Most GM car have no converter drain plug. I performed this procedure on my mothers 89 Cavalier w/ a pan removal w/ new filter. When I got mom her last car, (a low mileage Chevy Malibu), I performed the same maintenance procedure. Both transmissions length of service was extended to +130,000 miles.

    Poppy, my first C-body

I suspect it was from an external source,( other vehicles, maintenance on sight equipment, outside contaminants transfer), as puddling in the surface in select areas was present. Water run off is anything but purposely designed in some of these structures As stated some rear areas the etching...

    Poppy, my first C-body

Here are the finished photos. Some etching went clear through to the primer, thus limiting how much I could do. In some rear panels I limited the amount removed.

    Poppy, my first C-body

Some additional photos of Poppy. There was damage to the paint from being parked at Indpls. International Airport. What ever leaked through the concrete structure etched water like stain marks as appears in the photos. Due to the thin measurement of the paint in several spots, complete removal...

You will need a good donner car to repair this. Premo fab skills need here otherwise. If sub structure rust is found the donner car can supply those parts.

Congrats Dave, well deserved. One of the best represented wagons Lou has featured. I agree w/ @Samplingman getting @ayilar in front of the camera w/ one of his Polara's would be a stand alone feature by itself. Michel's knowledge on the last of the convertibles would make for interesting...

    Hood silencer pad.

The old material was fiberglass fire retardant material. The new hood insulation material is made of more fire retardant than OEM. The best fitting is of the molded variety which yields a superior fit. A photo would be a huge aid in getting a good fitting hood pad. As @ayilar stated maybe...
