    Turn Signal Woes

Well, zip ties are a temporary solution, and everyone knows that the most permanent solution is the temporary one :p

    Disc brake one more time

I think the hub is just machined to fit the bog standard firebird rotors. Right, makes sense

    Disc brake one more time

oops thanks for correcting me. less travel but with less pressure probably means it's much easier to modulate the pedal. Going from an 89 Toyota Cressida to a 18 Camry I thought the brakes on the Camry were touchy, then I got in the Plymouth and whoa boy lol. I thought it was rather interesting...

    Disc brake one more time

When I was hunting for rotors on Rockauto I did see that and note the diameter of the hole was almost the same size as the Durago BR5560 rotor that I got and ended up having machined, resulting in the total cost blowing out to even more than if I had just bought the Centric rotors straight from...

    Disc brake one more time

Wish I heard about AAJ earlier. The ECI brackets are great, but definitely put a dent in the wallet getting it, and getting the calipers and other hardware off rockauto could only help so much.

    Disc brake one more time

I've got that ECI brake kit sitting in my room right now, the biggest reasons for me picking this kit were the fact that you can retain the original spindle, and that there are EBC bluestuffs available in the D-52 pattern; I fully intend to take my barge out to the occasional "arrive and drive"...

    Electronic ignition conversion tips

It never gets old seeing just how many electrical gremlins go away simply by doing nothing else but cleaning up the grounds. I know OP wanted a stock look to it, but I can vouch for the FBO box, doing a 2 bbl to 4 bbl swap, engine starts and runs great, using it with a fresh mopar electronic...

Valve cover spark plug wire grommets

Well it turns out two of those spots are on the left valve cover which aren't actually meant to take the grommets which makes things a bit easier. I'll check those out, thanks

Valve cover spark plug wire grommets

    Damn, only one left...and my 67 383 appears to have four spots for them ;-;

Valve cover spark plug wire grommets

Ahh ok. Yeah just wondering how it holds up being so close to the exhaust logs.

Valve cover spark plug wire grommets

Late reply? that was rather quick lol. Especially for a forum. Did you use nylon to print them?

Valve cover spark plug wire grommets

@angus66 reviving this thread to ask angus, how are the 3D printed grommets holding up to the exhaust heat?

Electronic Ignition , Goop leaking out

Neat info on testing them. I know the FBO boxes explicitly say that their ECUs cannot be tested as it may cause permanent damage to the components...but a part of me wonders if that's just to protect intellectual property or trade secret sort of things, basically, I'm wondering if it's possible...

    RTE IVR3 install on a 66 Polara/Monaco gauge

Almost forgot to add to this - if you have an electric choke and can route the feed wire through the firewall, the IVR3 gives you an extra spade connection to hook it up to (or anything else that would need 12v switched power without drawing too much current) - plug it on the same terminal where...

How to test temp sender and gauge with only a multimeter?

Yessssssss, it's just the temp sender! Pulled the spade connector, sat it against the distributor body, turned the ignition to on, and the gauge shot right up. Thanks yet again everyone!

Oooh that makes things clearer, thanks heaps! I think I can find those at our local electronics shops

Toyota washer bottle in a 67 Fury

That is true, but as 3175375 says, the bigger problem I have is the fact that we rely heavily on selling our resources abroad to keep our economy afloat, instead of building up a manufacturing base. At least with the Japanese cars there are American workers being paid to assemble them. It was...

How to test temp sender and gauge with only a multimeter?

Thanks guys, and thanks again @Davea Lux I'll try those tests. Didn't even think to test with the multimeter like that. Electrical work isn't any stranger to me, but too many times I forget the basics.

How to test temp sender and gauge with only a multimeter?

Oops. It's a 67 Phoenix/67 Fury with the 383 engine. But the temp sender looks like a 66 and earlier model, takes a female spade connector. Hooks up to a 66 Polara/Monaco gauge. @Big_John thanks for that. Gonna see if there's a local version since shipping will kill me for such a cheap tester...

(Another) 383 2 bbl to 4 bbl conversion thread, anyone got a parts list?

Oh man the fuel line...if you managed to see it in person, you'd probably notice a kink in the bend under the ignition coil. There's also another kink hidden under the hose connecting it to the fuel inlet. I kinda want to re-do it...but at the same time, it works fine so...yea I'm still a bit...
