    Top Speed/Comfortable Cruising Speed

My 68 Sport Fury has its original 383 4bbl with the 727 and 2.76 rear end. It is all stock with a Pertronix electronic ignition on it and it runs at 70 no problem, but it seems to really like going 80 and even 90. I don't drive like that, but when my brother and I were driving the car across...

    North Carolina owners??

Is the Piedmont Mopar Club still active? It was in Level Cross, just south of Greensboro, and I was a member from 1993 until 2001 while I lived in Winston-Salem. In early 2001 I was transferred back out to California, so it has been a long time since I was active in it, but it was a great club...

The Great Pumpkin, A 22,000 Mile Survivor FK3 1970 Fury III 4-Door Hardtop

I removed them from both my Superbird and my Sport Fury to protect and preserve them. Just like us, these cars aren't getting any younger and leaving the build sheets in the car allows them to turn to dust just that much faster. I placed both of mine in plastic sleeves to protect them and made...

    Fender Tag Help Please

I found a broadcast sheet in the seatback of one of my front buckets but I can't recall now if was the driver's side or the passenger's side. That is also a place to check but I know your car probably doesn't have bucket seats. However, if it does, that is another place to check.

    67-68 Fury Picture thread

I picked up my 68 Sport Fury a year after in June of 2004. When I was a kid my parents bought a 67 Fury III 4 door sedan new and that was my mom's car when I got my permit in 1973. The 68 dash is virtually identical to the 67 dash so I feel like a kid again every time I hop in mine. I owned a...

How often do you shift your Torqueflite out of "D"?

I live in California's central valley and all of my local driving is flat with very little climbing or descending. However, when I take the Sport Fury up in to the Sierra Nevada, which is at my doorstep, I often use 2nd or even 1st if on a steep descent. I do this to spare the brakes although...

Exactly What Wheels & Tires Fit C Bodies?

Per the specs on the American Racing website my wheels have a 4 inch backspace. They are part number VN50177012500 if that helps. Again, they are 17 X 7 and I have no issues with any interference on the body or suspension front or back.

    Went for a drive today...

I live about an hour and fifteen minutes south of Sacramento and even though I have lived here for almost 20 years, the reality is I don't know a lot about the areas around Sacramento. Yesterday, a group of friends and I took a drive up through the Delta and wound up in a little place named...

    15x8 tire size

I would not recommend going up to 18 inch wheels simply because as the sidewall gets smaller the air pressure required for the tire increases and that translates directly in to a harsher ride. I find that on my car I am OK with it up to about 40psi but higher than that starts to really affect...

    15x8 tire size

At 17x7 I believe that is true, but I am not the expert so I can't say for certain. I would guess the 18 inch might be a little different, taller perhaps, but again, I can't say for certain.

    15x8 tire size

Exactly right: 235/55R17s. As you can see my car does not have skirts but I would guess my car has about 2.5 inches between the rear tires and the quarter panel. I am not sure about the top of the fender well. However, my car sits at its stock ride height and I have had no problem with any...

    15x8 tire size

That is correct: zero offset. This picture was taken in late May (Memorial Day weekend) and with the front wheels turned out from backing in to the parking spot you can see the tire width. I run the same wheels wheels and tires on all four corners with a fifth in the trunk as a spare.

    TTI exhaust shipping cost?

Three years ago it cost me about $70 to have a full tti exhaust system (from the manifolds to the tips) shipped to me from Southern California up to Central California via UPS.

    Wheel Stud Question

I have even had Chrysler dealers break them, and that was after reminding them the studs were original and the driver side were left threaded! :wtf: I have now switched to right threaded all around just to prevent that from happening again.
