    vintage wheel identification help?

I just noticed you are a new guy and looked at your profile... Ahhh ... Young guy too... Nothing wrong with that, I used to be one too, but it also hit me that maybe I should elaborate to be on the safe side.... Your '65 came new with left hand threaded lug nuts on the left side and right hand...

    vintage wheel identification help?

Just realize those are right hand threads. It looks like you already have a broken stud (hard to tell from the pic) so maybe you are thinking about doing the conversion anyway, but with those, you will have to.

    Left Hand Lug Nuts

I need a set of 5 or 10 left hand lug nuts for my 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT. It has the C body factory road wheels. Local tire shop stripped the nuts and broke a stud off. Post reply . Any help is appreciated.

    Will these work?

Ok so the wheels are lug centric not hub centric so I'm worrying about nothing?

    Will these work?

I’m aware what the center hole of the wheel does. Are you Aware that magnum 500 and road wheels do not contact the center register of the hub, they just mount with the lug nuts? Try putting one Of these wheels on a tire balancer and see what happens. A Ford steel wheel has a smaller center...

    Will these work?

Those wheels could not be put on anything but a bubble type balancer. Dave

    Chrome lug nuts.

This was discussed recently in another thread: What Source are Purists Using for the Correct Lug Nuts for the Road Wheels? McGard chrome lug nuts for our cars do look similar, but the hex size for installing them is 13/16", not the original 3/4". I have seen lisitings on Ebay for them still...

What Source are Purists Using for the Correct Lug Nuts for the Road Wheels?

When I restored my Cuda about 35 year ago now, I used some lug nuts for its rallye whells that I thought back then were correct and they look very much like the ones that Classic Industries sells, but the prices are now ridiculous. It seems that my Cuda ones look like this one from Classic...

    SOLD Wheel stud info

Local tire shop has my 70 Sport Fury GT in and has stripped the left hand threads off the rear wheel of my car. I need to know if anyone has the original part numbers for the rear wheel studs and the chrome lug nuts for the road wheel. Any help is appreciated.

    Lugnut Nightmare

Since they're front wheels you may as well just split the nuts, pull the hubs and replace the corroded lugs. Save you some trouble down the road.

Looking for the perfect vintage wheels ?!

I just got converted from my dislike for B3. Didn’ know it just needed black to accent.

Looking for the perfect vintage wheels ?!

I had Keystone Klassics on my A12 Roadrunner for years. Some guys gave me crap because they weren't black wheels with chrome lug nuts... Which I really don't like. The Keystones on this car were still decent, back before they started getting cheap with the prep for chroming. They (and Cragar)...

    wheel studs fell out

As long as wheel register is correct.

    wheel studs fell out

Merely addressing the lug flexing here. Assuming the lugs are the correct ones; The only way lugs are going to flex going down the road is if the lug nuts are loose. Otherwise they simply clamp the wheel to the hub when torqued properly.

    wheel studs fell out

I agree to a point, properly torqued and fitted studs should not flex. This particular hub has had the holes hollowed out, probably by running the incorrect studs. Welding replacement studs in is going to weaken both the studs and the hub. The studs are then still loose in the holes with the...

    An alternative rim idea.

114.3mm does NOT equal 115mm. Yeah, they "bolt on"...but they really don't. Instead of the lug nut making 360* contact, it now makes contact with the wheel at just ONE outboard point on each lug hole! This causes stress and you'll either crack the wheel at that point in each hole, or work...

What Source are Purists Using for the Correct Lug Nuts for the Road Wheels?

That link is very helpful John, thank you. I will follow through on those potential sources. I have a car that I just sold to Austria and the fellow wanted a set of used road wheels on it instead of the original hubcaps, so I obliged him. But I was not able to find the correct lug nuts...

What did you do to your C-body today....

Shocks all done front and rear. Long *** day! Also replaced all the lug nuts. PO had all locks and no key! Front left was LH thread, left rear was RH. Thought left would of been all LH thread. That added time to the day. And new/old floor mats!! Period correct I think. Wheels are 15x8 all...
