    Popping through exhaust on acceleration

NOT a GM...advance springs and weights are located under the breaker plate and distributor would need to be disassembled to have access to them...if you grab the rotor you should be able to twist it a bit (like maybe 1/4 to 1/2 an inch at the tip) and when released it should spring back to its...

    NOT MINE 1971 Plymouth Fury - $3,200 (Huntersville-Charlotte, NC)

Thanks, I now have a 71 Custom. I have not yet figured out how to upload the fender tag.

    Popping through exhaust on acceleration

You don't need a new distributor and it's not the ballast resistor. What you do need is do some simple "back to basics" maintenance. These cars aren't like new cars where you don't touch anything for 100K miles. For example: See the black spot on the rotor? Then see the end of the rotor...

    Possibly "Christine 2, 3, 4 and 5"!

Fords used the inertia switch on every car they made, mustang, Tempo, Taurus, Probe, Ranger, F series gas truck, Right side in trunk on cars and right kick panel on trucks. Rockauto calls it a fuel pump cutoff switch. It can be tripped in some minor accidents and the car won't start so watch...

The Wilfred Sykes led to the Henry Steinbrenner. Yes, George's great grandad's boat. Lake Superior cliamed it in 1953, and they finally found it in 750 feet of water in 2023. 70 years lost. Built 1901. Dunno when all these pcs ares, but it looks remarkably "modern" ... pilot house/crew...

NOT MINE 1973 Chrysler Town & Country Station Wagon 6-passenger - $19,000 - Denver, CO

Looks like the passenger fender has different woodgrain also. For $19k I would think the AC should be working and not have a rubber wedge in the passenger door's mirror.

In many cases, FEW things in a vehicle are symmetrical, as suspected at first. Driveshaft location can be due to the fact the pinion gear is on one side of the axle's center, side to side. Seems like that some Ford vans were visibly off-set? Angling the ends of the driveshaft (or intermediary...

WANTED 68 Fury 4 speed shifter handle.

Do you have a console or bare floor? Do you have a inland or hurst mechanism? What is the build date of the car? Does it have a reverse lamp on the lower dash?

    NOT MINE NICE 72 T&C - B.A.T No reserve

Close-up pics suggest the graining might've been done with brush-strokes and then gotten a satin-ish clearcoat? If so, I admire the ingenuity and talent of whomever did that work. Proves the adage 'there's only 1 way to do it and that's the right way' is short-sighted. Are you all caught up...

Got us a 1967 New Yorker

Your 67 has paint code EC2. So originally had a dark blue painted roof with a medium blue body. Paint code C is a C-body only color that looks really nice. I had a 67 New Yorker that color.

Need help on a 65 NY heater hose with A/C

Yes rear one on engine to water valve, the valve to heater core, then heater core to front on engine.

    Ultra-lift motor mount system!

Your front u-joint will probably live longer after this is corrected, too. Glad to see this car is getting some love, @Paul Stubbs. Its sister car, the 67 Sport Fury, did finally sell for $3000 on ebay.

    What's it worth?

What is the idea behind the 6'6" rule? Is it for old Roman roads? The oil pan wrecker speed bump or sleeping policeman is designed to keep the Low Rider crowd out of town?

Need help on a 65 NY heater hose with A/C

That is the ticket. Got the car 6 days ago and got it running to day. Been running from service manual to parts manual looking at all the goodies. I thought I had it right. Thanks so much and a merry Christmas to you! full size

    Popping through exhaust on acceleration

Thx for the info ! If I did get a different distributor which would you recommend? Also, with regard to the advance weights, are they underneath the rotor, i.e. not right on top like in the GM cars? That might be why I thought they were stuck

Need help on a 65 NY heater hose with A/C

I assume with all the heater hose connections, you have a car with AC But, here's the pic from the '65 manual for a non AC car. I looked through the '65 FSM and didn't see anything on the heater hose for an AC car. So, something I've kinda figured out is sometimes later cars have these...
