1968 Plymouth Fury I Police Car! Walk Around, Fender Tag Decode, & parts car

I see that more as a special project than a room line. Yes the Charger 500 has a filler panel for the back window but it was a special project with only 392 being built. I do not feel they used the X for the roofline, I do feel it was more for the special project that would be in the price...

1968 Plymouth Fury I Police Car! Walk Around, Fender Tag Decode, & parts car

DUH, I have a Fastback Barracuda BH29 not BX23, the Fury is the only Mopar that used the price class to define a roof when there is a digit in the VIN for that. This should have ben PL29, PM 29, PH29 etc. The PX is wrong on Mopars part as is the PS23 that should have been PS29. The 29 is for...

1968 Plymouth Fury I Police Car! Walk Around, Fender Tag Decode, & parts car

Fastback. Not sure why it wasn't a 29 on the body code, this is the only car I know of that did this. Alan

I need help with info about VIN/ ID / model of my 1968 Chrysler 300

From the factory on a 68 there is no VIN on the car other than the dash tag. The body stampings in 68 and older were the Shipping Order number. Starting in 69 the VIN was stamped on the body in two places. Alan

Not a chance I'm willing to take. This car is never leaving the family, the card is in a known safe place, not going to get misplaced. Alan

Is the ‘Certicard’ in the engine bay common?

The one for my 67 Barracuda with my grandfathers name is put away with the title. I keep a decoy in the car. Alan

Is the ‘Certicard’ in the engine bay common?

In 67 they were in the engine compartment, sometime late in the 67 run they moved them to the owners manual. 68 was the last year for them. I think it is cool when people leave the original owners info on them, I see no point in taking it off or changing it. Alan

I need help with info about VIN/ ID / model of my 1968 Chrysler 300

Paint and or rust can easily fill them in, on this one (a 69) the cowl one was not detectable at all till I took a wire brush to it. The trunk one may have adhesive hiding it. Alan

I need help with info about VIN/ ID / model of my 1968 Chrysler 300

In 68 the hidden numbers are not the VIN, likewise the VIN is not on the data TAG. The hidden numbers will reflect the number that is on the data tag. One of the numbers is under the weatherstrip by the left side trunk hinge The other is under the cowl screen/hood seal near the left side. Alan

NOT MINE 71 Monaco Triple Black Loaded 440 car

I agree, it is hard to say what the result of weeks worth of cleaning would be. Not sure it would be up to my daily driver standard. The ones that I have restored were done to a level I could enjoy, not about resale. I got lucky with the CHP car and basically broke even. The 500 I could have...
