Agree its Norfolk, VA. Date I find is ca. 1940.

Seems to me a lot still there, but a lot is gone too. See what you think if ya get a min.

I think the intersection is Granby (street between Woolworth & Sears) at Freemason (the street between the Esso and the Woolworth's), "famous" intersection because of Woolworth (foreground left) and Sears (mid-to-right background, with the fire escapes).

Both those building remodeled, after the nation's first, 20th century "big box' retailers are LONG gone. Their retail palaces have since gained alternative usages.

Below, the Esso and everything on the right seems gone (Esso looks to have eons ago been where red p/u truck is making that right turn at stop sign).

The hubcaps on my ‘71 are from the ‘69 my Dad bought new from there. Thanks for the pic.
Thanks for the share, I love stories like that. My dual-snorkel air cleaner is from a car my Dad traded to my uncle almost 40 years ago. Some people take lots of pictures; some of us get our attachment to history through object.

So that this isn't a complete thread hijack, here's a picture of the old flagship Hudson dealer on South Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
