Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

From the 70 manual. 1/8” difference between A and B. Tightening the torsion bars raises the height. Loosening the torsion bars lower it. Make sure you spray the adjustment bolts with penetrating oil and take pressure off the torsion bars by jacking up the frame before turning. Screen shots of...

Where does this vac line go?

Not so bad. It’s broken down into pieces. Attack each one separately and then be patient with checking the linkages. My bet is that the linkage hasn’t been disturbed and some of the components have been removed or don’t work.

    72 newyorker 73 fury

Remove the the door lock tumbler from door, it is awkward but can be done. Then take the tumbler to lock smith to have key cut. Have you looked all over the car for a hidden key? Small magnetic box behind bumpers, fenders etc. I have found key boxes while working on cars I have owned many years...

Tips for a young guy? What’s next?

I did put one of the $70 eBay 318 carbs on a 360. I slotted the carb base mounting holes to fit the bigger spread 360 manifold and used the thickest 360 base gasket I could find. This was done because the engine in question in the car in question was a big question from jump, as was the whole...

    Steering wheel

I had the same when I gott my -62 Newport & as you can see on my profile pic I just rinsed i & kept the top chrome bit "naked" & liked it like that. I had an idea to put on some clear plastic hose but I thought that in my opinion it might not be as good.

Can shocks with springs affect ride height?

I've had good success with the spring shocks. The 4 pair I remember on big sedans raised the rear at the wheel about one inch. On the Darts and Satellites, it was about 2 inches. More if the springs were weak, less if they were not. I didn't notice any draw backs. I put four on my long...
