Agree. Have had the same experience. Losksmith shops are more money, however when you factor in the time for recutting, travel, time, etc. The locksmith is worth the money.

Easy, to do yourself, with just a new master cylinder and some brake line. On your stock distribution block remove the rear brake line and plug that with a flare plug fitting. On your new master cylinder take the line that would feed the rear brake and either use a union or make a new line to...

They probably corroded from sitting. This is pretty common on vintage parts. Dave
