A stock 318 poly max safe RPM is 6000, correct? According to the CFM formula, the most air it can swallow is 552CFM. Add 10% for to cover any carb marketing BS and its 607cfm. Add a little more for those crazy times you go above 6000 rpm and I'd say a 650 would be perfect...Who's with me!

Coming back from picking up my '69 L-code Polara 500 I stopped at Summit Racing in Ohio and bought a new 800cfm AVS-2 carb for the car.

New transmission mount. Put the original on the self. Some day I'll look into replace the bushing and restoring the mount if possible.

Got the original starter cleaned and rebuilt. Found another alternator to get restored (keeping the original on the self). New repro battery cable and transmission cooler lines.

Cleaned up and painted brackets & pulleys. Add some crayon scribble marks to the valve covers using the codes from the broadcast sheet. And in it went.
