    1962 White Wall Tires

From the Imperial pages on the internet...Wide white walls as we know them were last offered on 1961 models. By 1962 the industry as a whole switched to the narrower 1" or 1 1/2" white stripe tire and we've played with different widths ever since, nearly going wide again in the late '70s with...

Just bought a 78 New Yorker

Apparently, if you're thinking that the skirts fasten with the single swinging latch attaching to the rear quarter wheel lip, this is different. I don't know what year Chrysler changed to the "1978 way". Look at these "For Sale" on Ebay, zoom into the back and look at the two clips that guide...

Just bought a 78 New Yorker

No, the rear quarter sheet metal has an approx. 1/3" indent that the skirt covers. If you look closely at the two clips, they provide pressure to the inside of the wheel well/wheel tub to hold it tight. The front of the skirt guide pins go in first, then the two clips holding it tight, and...

Just bought a 78 New Yorker

Those fender skirts may not work here, why? if there is a wheel lip for the screws to go into for the rear wheel trim. That is typically about 1/2" wide and cars with skirts have no wheel lip. Look at your skirts to see what I mean. The top two fasteners slide to the inside top of the rear quarter.

Just bought a 78 New Yorker

Welcome and it looks great. Don't underestimate professional buffing. It is cheaper than a complete paint job. If you are wondering what it would look like with fender skirts, here is my car.

Oh boy, it is a parts car at best unless you have 100,000 plus to restore. But, price is relative to all.

Looking for production info on 62 Newport Coupe 3 Speed

I own a '62 Chrysler 300 "Sport" Convertible with the three-speed manual transmission, 413 option, no P.S. or P.B. but does have the "Sure-Grip' rear end. Chrysler archives sent me the punch card to confirm some information. I have located no one that can give actual confirmed numbers. I have...

Dental Insurance, Is it a rip off?

Check around if paying for the insurance yourself. My Dentist is one of several at that location and part of a five city chain. They are large enough to offer their own insurance if you have none offered if you still are working. Every year the plan and costs can change. I know the yearly amount...
