Confused about slab-era upper control arm splash shield

I have in my parts inventory this used splash shield: It's made from cord re-inforced rubber, smooth on both sides. There are 2 explanations for this item - that it's an actual OEM splash shield, or I cut it from a sheet of rubber using an actual OEM shield as a template. It would have been...

    Upper ball joints

The upper control arms that I'm using came with the stub frame that I've swapped into my '67 Monaco. My original upper control arms are now "surplus". They would probably clean up ok. One has a "new" ball joint installed in '87, the other has the original '67 ball joint. They're available if...

    Upper ball joints

A couple years ago I bought a single Quicksteer K722 Ball joint (about $8) and then 6 months ago I bought a pair of MCQUAY-NORRIS FB290 ($3.50 each). All this from Rockauto. About 3 months ago I installed probably the MCQUAY-NORRIS joints into my newly powder-coated upper control arms...

    Upper ball joints

The both got loose? Were you using an impact / air tool or elbow grease? I've done mine a couple months ago, tight all the way in, no power tool. And you took them out? How do the threads look?

Source for belt-line side trim clips '67 ('68?) Monaco / Polara

This pertains to the 1-inch wide trim strip on the '67 Monaco (maybe Polara also had it, maybe the '68 models also had it?). It might also be applicable to any other model with a similar style narrow trim strip? Here's a photo: The original white plastic clips really can't be re-used (I...

    Bulkhead Connector replacement tips/advice

This is what I bought: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/290644507106 It's a set of 8, you'll need 3 of these sets to fill in all contact positions. I think there will be differences in construction between these various items sold on ebay.

    Bulkhead Connector replacement tips/advice

I replaced the contacts in my bulkhead connector and the cable connectors a month or two ago. I got a set of these contacts off ebay (male and female). These are also called packard connectors I guess. I made a diagram of the connectors, with labels using numbers, I printed the labels on some...

    High performance exhaust manifold coatings??

I had my 318 manifolds ceramic coated a couple months ago when I was having my front stub and a bunch of front-end parts powder coated. Was all done by the same place. I was thinking of having them get an aluminum-tone color, but the guy said that because the manifolds were so pitted...

Ah, ok. Some links: https://www.flightaware.com/resources/airport/CYXU/services/FBO/Flite_Line_Services_London 100LL is $2.75 (presumably CAN $ per Liter, which is $10.39 CAN per US gallon, which is $7.64 US per gallon). Premium grade gasoline is $4.40 in Michigan currently (says AAA). My...

I've heard that for most, that's an urban legend. Unless I'm totally clueless and you can drive right up to your local (Ontario, or BC) airport and they'll let you buy AVgas for your car.

What is correct belt width for power steering belt (1967) ?

Rock auto shows the term "belt outside circumference" and it ranges from 39 1/4 to 41 3/8. I wonder why they don't show belt width? That range in circumference needs some explanation. Some of these belts cost as little as $1 or $2.

What is correct belt width for power steering belt (1967) ?

I'm looking at the '67 Monaco/Polara service manual, it shows several diagrams of how the belts are routed, it gives tightning specs for the accessory belts, but doesn't actually give belt details like length / width or size code. Strange.

What is correct belt width for power steering belt (1967) ?

This pertains to the small block LA 318 if that matters. On a car without A/C. I notice that my alternator belt seems to ride at the proper location in the pulleys, but the power steering belt seems to ride a lot lower. Both are 1/4 inch belts. Is this correct?
