    Hei distributor date code

I've been looking for half the morning and haven't found anything that makes me feel like I know the answer. I need an HEI distributor, a stock Mopar small block circa early 70s. I'm looking for a definitive answer on the date code numbers: which three numbers are the production date code in a...

Those cars are long enough to begin with, you don't to add another foot or two with the tail pipes.

I can't believe I missed the fact you have disc brakes. . . When I looked at your under-hood photo, I noticed the disc brake dual diaphragm booster, but ignored it since you started the discussion saying you wanted to convert to disc brakes. Sorry for the confusion on my part.

What a beautiful and nicely equipped car! Your car has front discs and rear drums. Rare, and really good! I can help with direction for your disc brake system. The new master cylinder you bought is not correct - you need a dual reservoir DISC brake master cylinder. If you've not installed...

    Pushbutton A727 shavings in pan...

I agree with @myskin , in that you should clean the inside of the pan. The pictures show what appears to be almost grinding dust. My experience with transmission pan gunk is that it is more like extremely fine sand, and if there’s clutch material in it, it will be dark, almost black in color...

    Pushbutton A727 shavings in pan...

So you haven’t cleaned that stuff out each time you dropped the pan? It’s been a long time since I changed a trans filter. But, that looks pretty typical of what we used to see in the pan,but that was after 50k (or more) miles. I don’t know how long it it took for wear deposits to collect on a...

1965 Imperial Front Wheel Hub Bore

You really should use what the car was designed to use. Hub centric or Hub piloted requires the hub to center the wheel on the axle center. Stud piloted, or coarse, use the studs to center the wheel and generally use a different lug nut design as well. There are spacers made for wheels with the...

Nice car! I might kinda wish it was a different color if it was mine but I wouldn’t change a thing cosmetically on this one. Those Budd disc brakes work crazy good so hopefully they’re in good working order and all you need to do is get the proper master. Just search for a stock replacement for...

    NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 440pc CA$12,500

I guess all those 6,000 miles were on dirt roads, way to much inner fender grime for a 6k car. Love the GM 'Lid Flip' for better performance, no seriously, the air cleaner housing doesn't appear to have the 100k+ rash on the front of it but if the engine was out a re-spray of it could be...

Upgrading the electrical system in our 67 Newport Custom

So, we have two defect low beams and since it's sealed beam lamps the availability isn't the greatest here in Norway. We are therefore looking to maybe upgrade to newer lamps where we can change bulbs and would like your input on what to get and/or where to buy. I would love to get yellow glass...

    Pushbutton A727 shavings in pan...

Hello and well met. It's been 200 or so miles after I rebuilt the Pushbutton A727 and have dropped the pan multiple times to check the health of the transmission. The shavings in the pan are silver in color. (planetary gears/bushings?) Is the amount of shavings acceptable as "normal" wear...
