Good starting point. A friend had a blue with white interior console version. It was looking good like that, and no hassles of black.

I really believe it's all about what retainer is included. If you look at repair kits, they are the same part number. I also mentioned the disc brake MC and here's a good pic of one in the wild.

I understand completely. Some guys think this stuff is made of gold. Just for the sake of discussion with anyone else contemplating swapping, here is a decent list of interchangeable parts with the LA and the Poly. Poly 318 Polyspherical Parts Interchange - Poly318.com

Great looking ride!!! I dropped a modified '68 318 in my '66 Sport Fury Convertible and have had no complaints. Easy drop-in, bolt-up conversion. I won't win any races but its a fun drive, plenty of get-up and go.

Voyager 1 and 2 still alive!!!! 38,000 mph!

So please help out a dumb guy that gets through life on what appears to be common sense. We only base these thoughts on what we think we know, correct? Are they assumptions or facts? I read all this stuff with a lot of "what if" thoughts. Questions with no one to ask or answer. The habitable...

Car looks very nice! Brakes, safety-related items, and reliability should be "first". Which CAN also include new rubber fuel line sections, between the tank sending unit and the carburetor. Which would be three sections to the fuel pump and then add in the fuel filter parts, too. Modern...

    66 Fury front suspension

The normal power front disc brake cars all had 11x2.5" rear shoes. An upgrade from there would be the rear brakes from a HD Drum Brake car, which would be 11x3" rear brakes. So check the width of your current rear brake shoes. The unfortunate thing is that you'll need to find a rear axle with...

Nope. My head seems to suffice  :) PS: it helps to have the tag. It also helps that @O_Knut owns a really attractive and unique 1971 Newport Royal.

normally the pins that fry are the big red one from the battery and the 12 ga black one from the alternator to the ammeter as the spade terminals used aren't large enough to handle the higher amperage of these circuits...add the extra resistance of some corrosion into the mix and you get a...

The big thing regarding where to start with getting an old car up to snuff is to start with the safety-related items. This includes brakes and after that, get the car to run reliably with a comprehensive tune-up, decent tires, etc. Your car looks like it is in pretty decent shape, but off the...

Engine swap should I go 360 or 383

In our current world of 1000 horsepower HellCats with factory a/c and a factory warranty, 230 gross-rated horsepower seems more like a lawn tractor engine, by comparison. Yet when the 1966s were new, about 500 real dyno horsepower meant factory a/c was not available (especially with the RV-2...
