    Journey Begins 67' Fury

You're spot on about not running off the cars tank. The old fuel can turn into a turpentine like fluid that will work itself into the valve guides causing stuck valves, bent push rods or worse.

68 Newport, can i use a non ac heater core in an ac car?

Here's one I recently removed from my '65 300L. Original one and the new one I haven't installed yet. I think I paid around 350 for this copper unit. Best one I could find. Notice the 2 heater hoses I mentioned,

68 Newport, can i use a non ac heater core in an ac car?

I can remember back in the early nineties, I had a '66 Chrysler 300 that the heater core went bad in. This was a factory AC car with dual heater core. That original setup wasn't available at that time, O'Reilly's showed me the replacement for it...which was just a single, it bolted in but I had...

For Sale 66 newport 440, power windows

That's the front strut rod, not another stabilizer bar. Very loaded up for a Newport. Are you parting it out? Does the power antenna work? It looks kind of bent

'68 300 Stock Rims, wider tires

'65 300L with 245 60 15 Goodyear tires and Magnum 500's. No issues. Tires from late '90's. Good tread no weather cracking but must put some new shoes on her due to age. I wish Goodyear still made this style of block white letter tires. Guess I'll have to go with Cooper.

    Chrome Bumper Marks

Appears to be what is referred to as etching. My 65 300L rear bumper is got it bad. From what I've heard over the years, the final chrome dip is starting to shrink up. It tends to be worse closer to exhaust exit. Mine looks pretty good in the daylight, but put headlights on it at night and it...

    Power seat motors and solenoids

Here's some pics of the solenoid pack, easy to remove, two screws, you can see the holes in one pic. The one removed is bad, notice the waxy paper that should surround the outside of the coil is missing except one small piece. Their just a simple coil winding. The spol the winding is wound on is...

    Power seat motors and solenoids

One last thing, those shift forks that slide in and out of the solenoid should be dry and clean. Never grease the part of the fork that slides in and out of the solenoid.

    Power seat motors and solenoids

Shift fork, the small gear slides into a slot on the shift fork. The solenoid moves the shift fork in and out of the solenoid when activated which in turn moves the gear on the other end of the shift fork. If they don't in and out easily, the solenoid is toast. The engineers in those days were...

    Power seat motors and solenoids

The windings will get burnt and swell up preventing the rod from moving back and forth. If you've taken the transmission apart to clean it you will spot a bad one right away. The shaft on one of the three gears will be hard to get out, where as the good ones will slide back and forth easily. I...

    Power seat motors and solenoids

65 with 6 way through 68, if memory serves me correctly. The 60 year old grease turns into a waxy glue, especially in the 4 jacks. They must be completely disassembled, keep a close watch for the tiny clutch packs on the cable ends. I had one hell of a time getting a couple of the jacks apart. I...
