basic convertible and rear seat questions, 1970 Fury

The clips for the seat bottom are at the front. Push down on the front of the seat at the front, and push hard toward the rear at the same time. The clips are welded to the floor and are notched, and face toward the rear of the car. You will have to do it at both sides. The seat back is held...

    Replacing The Carpet -

I found this tag attached to the bottom of the front carpet when I took it out. Date stamp (MAR 26 1965) is three days before the car was assembled.

I agree, but red was all I had lying around. I'll put a tan one on it someday. It is on there because I didn't want the sun to crack my nice old deluxe transparent gold steering wheel, but then the cover kind of defeats the purpose when you can't even see the wheel. :yuk:

It does brighten it up. I like matching or coordinated colored carpets a lot better than the same old black or grey that seems to be the norm today.

Original was little bit darker. The color samples were this and a darker tan, almost brown. I decided this was closer to original and liked it better. There are more color choices for modern pile carpets, but not so much for loop weave.

Maybe some old guy that worked the line carried a pocket full around and dropped a few in every car. I'd have done something like that. :busted: We were tearing a Pontiac apart once and found a guy's initials and the date written on the side of the cowl. I always wondered how many cars he signed.

They still are around here. Knowing my family and Michigan like I do, I would say they are there too..

From These guys. Very nice carpet. The padding is about a third the thickness of the original but for 159 shipped, it is worth it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351003473118?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Replacing the carpet. I knew the car was in amazing condition for 50 years old, but I was not expecting the floors to be this rust free! Everything came apart very easily, no problems at all with seat and accelerator bolts. Tired old Carpet. 50 years of Dakota and Colorado dust under the door...

    Another dash question.

It is not a problem, just a little surface rust that always happens on bare metal. I would just leave it alone. You don't want to do anything to harm the foam or cover.

    Rear Seat Belts: Shoulder Belts

A state might not compel you to install restraint devices in your vehicle, but they can legislate that no passengers under a certain age be transported in that vehicle unless secured in an approved restraint device... That is basically saying if you don't want seatbelts, fine.. If you want to...

Anybody know where to get a full set of correct screws for A 1971 Plymouth Dashboard

I would bet that the 70 hardtop version would be the same, or pretty close. The difference in screws was probably made up with side and rear window trim.

    Hot or not?!

With a black or white car it's perfect. Reminds me of the interior colors in the forward look cars.

    1969 headrests

Those look just like the headrests that were in my 69 300 with lowback buckets. It came with two bucket seats plus a seperate center section in the middle that folded down into an armrest. I wish I had a picture to show you, but ufortunately, that was many years ago and I can't find any...
