    Convertible pump fluid?

G'day! I've used power steering fluid and transmission fluid in different convertibles and both work just fine. I steer away from brake fluid because the roof hydraulics seem to be prone to leaks and brake fluid is bad news on painted floor pans and even worse under rugs. To fill and bleed the...

    68 Dash Pad Swap

Maybe get a tetanus shot for all the cuts and scratches you will get on both arms. Young children with tender ears should also be kept well clear of your work area!

    68 Dash Pad Swap

When I replaced my dash pad I discovered the simplest route was to pull thed entire dash as a unit. In the '70 the dash sits on two bolts down in the foot well, plus 4 screws in the defroster vents and two screws in at the top accessed from the door jam. Unbolt the steering wheel to lower dash...

    SEAT BELT BOLTS...WHAT SIZE?

Problem is one of a bunch of old farts with nothing to keep their minds busy! Worrying about grade 5 vs grade 8 is really silly, if your crash is hard enough to damage either, you've got much bigger problems to deal with. Drive safe!:steering:

Block heater. What area of country?

I had a recirculator type heater. The temp difference would get the coolant moving and circulate it through the engine. They were up to about 3,000 Watts and heated an engine no matter how cold the weather. BTW, before you use an old block heater, check the wiring for age damage. There have...

    Cruising On The Autobahn

I agree that the car is a '68 Fury vert, looks pretty well the same as the one I bought in '69. Mine was a Fury III with less chrome, so my guess is that car is a Sport Fury. Probably a 440 car, but the tack shift pointer could also be for a 383.

    Trunk seal

On my web page scroll almost to the end to find "My Christmas present from Paul" Couldn't have any "unfinished" spots. Since those pictures were taken, Paul added on the driver's side panel, three spray bottle holders for detailing cleaners and a towel rack for a selection of microfiber...

66 Newport 2 door sells for $20,900 + auction fees @ Barrett Jackson

I get a chuckle reading posts made by the "that isn't exactly perfect factory ..." people. I suggest maybe a bit of reality check is required. In the real world it is near impossible to duplicate factory fit and finish because we pay attention to our work and try to make things nice, whereas...
