    WOW WHAT FUN!

Watch this guy in front of the camera car starting at about 3:22, even if it doesn't look so at first sight, I guess he must know what he's doing coming through the whole Nuerburgring distance.

Splitter Guard Plea from Mopar HQ

That's another pet peeve of mine, leaving Stickers on installed car parts out of lazyness or sillyness, I regularly see them even on newly installed tires. Had to farm out some rear axle rubber bearing replacements recently on my old Bimmer and now I'm driving around with my Name on the order...

    NA$CAR Demise

Not sure how familiar you are overseas with this driver, Walter Röhrl, one of the best Rallye Drivers in the world, he competed once at Pikes Peak with Audi and won I think and in the IMSA race series around 1989. At 70 now he still drives circles around almost everyone I guess.

Took part in many Speed Trials in the 50s and 60s, already in his mid 60s at the time of this Little gem from 1964 on Youtube. The 58 Chrysler with Manual Transmission used in 58/59 still survives in unrestored original conditon after 35 years of storage until 2011 I think. Part of suggested...

Well, there must have been some reason why Petty preferred the 59 over the 60 in that case.

Richard Petty Some interesting Facts about Petty's early years in Google books excerpt, repeated on the Mopar Website as well. No engine Facts given most likely the largest one available. They already raced the blue 1960 Plymouths with a 383, why Petty used the 59 in this race is not mentioned.

I connected McGriff with racing of the 40s-60s. His later Engagements completely escaped me. We had a former Le Mans winner (1960) by the Name of Paul Frere who was still test driving mostly Porsches in his late 80s, actually driving his private 911 till his death at 91. He gave up motorcylces...

I think Mancini had a Chrysler engineer Background and been part of the early Ramchargers, then leaving Chrysler to go into the drag racing Business. One sad sidenote, it's been 55 years now since Wayne Erickson died after his 53 Dodge caught fire. He came up with the Ramcharger Name IIRC.
