I have seen both 160 and 180 used. I have a new re-cored radiator and it never actually had any overheating problems before the re-core, but I don't know what thermostat was in it. Should I just go ahead and put in the 180?

Everyone says 180. We had this discussion before and I was the only one that used a 160. A 160 was in my 383 before it was built. After the build they installed a new 180 and the gauge ran hotter than before. They installed a 160 and all is normal.

I always used three core radiators, and with a 160 in the winter My car hovered at 165 degrees. The heater never really put out enough
heat, as I used to drive the car all winter. Summer time the car would run 175-180, which was ok. I should have clarified
my statement.

absolutely 180. 160 is too cold, 195 is tooooo HOT!
I have a 160 in the 440 of the Monaco. Runs fine and never gets too hot in the summer. Why is 160 too cold?
It is said that oil is formulated to lubricate and most importantly clean, (yes, I said clean) at high temps (180+) .
I believe it.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will go with the 180 especially since I have a new radiator and no previous overheating problem.
