1954 Meadowbrook tear drum removal

Ok so I know that this car is outside of the range but on the rear drums they pop off hub or do I need to pull the assembly off of the axle?

I had a 1949 Coronet. You will need a big old hub/drum puller to remove it from the tapered axle. Loosen the hub nut flush with the end of the axle shaft. Apply penetrating oil. Maybe wait for that to work. Attach hub puller with three or four lug nuts tightly. Ensure it is centered over the axle shaft. Tighten the puller screw to apply pressure to the hub. Don’t overdo it! Risk of fracturing axle shaft. Heat with torch if stubborn. Whack puller and hub carefully with a hammer to break loose rust. Don’t be Thor. Good luck. And God bless!

Have the puller on it

I’ll give it a whack couple times a day

My 56 Nash and 36 Packard come apart the same way

I was just hoping the Dodge was different

Ever have the master cylinder out

Have not looked closely yet but I’ll take any tips on getting master off of the brake pivot shaft?

If you want a NEW fresh stock Made in USA Master Cylinder , the
Six Wheel Cylinders , Front and Rear Brake Hoses ( DOT , not sunsong ) , and Front & Rear Brake Shoes ,
I have plenty of all of it…..

Re: master cylinder. Yes, I did that job and it was not hard, but this was 35 years ago on a low mileage, rust free vehicle. Perhaps google it or look for a you tube video. If you have the rust monster, some extra penetrating lube, heat, and banging may be necessary. Or you may be surprise!

RE: the inner tubes. Chrysler Corp vehicles pioneered 'safety rims' in the 1940s. Conventional wisdom is that bias ply tires may benefit from a tube, but radials do not need a tube as long as the valve stem can seal on the rim. Some rims do not have circular valve stem holes. But big honking valve stems may seal them anyway.
