GM Switzerland by the way built the early 50s Chevrolet right on the assembly line with a 6cyl. Opel engine.

there was a Peugeot Diesel engine available for Mopars in the 50s. They were installed in the Desotos and Plymouths which were used as Taxis in Belgium in example. I have got a Chrysler Internatuinal article about them and a couple of old ads. Must be in the time frame 54-58

This was an independant manufacturer as far as I know by the name of Indenor, this application was also used in Citroen vehicles and boats for example.
