I’m looking at a 1960 desoto adventurer that was Canadian made and I was looking for a bit of help in deciding the build tag.

Model P-S-3-M-23
Body number 302
Paint code CC
Trim code PBK

I know C is Jamaica blue, so I’m guessing CC would be blue too and body?

Any help with this tag would be appreciated!

I only found 1961 color chips on www.hamtramck-historical.com . Appears that "C" is the color number, but the Chrysler code is CC-1, with the two-tones (different top color) having the letter for the top color (as in white), WCC-1.

I believe the 1960 information there had actual color chips, like they were in a sales book for the showroom floor or "order guide".

There were also 1960 Plymouth color and trim info. Seems that each division using "C" for a particular shade of blue had different names for it, but the same paint formula number for each brand of paint.

As to the decode of the serial number, in the lh frt door jamb, the "INFO" pages of the 1960 Chrysler Corp parts manual has that information. I was looking at www.jholst.net for that book.

Take care,
