went to the mainland today and picked this up.

ive been wanting a 57,58 or 60,61 for a long time.
i already have fuselages and formals so now i have the 3 F's.

i was expecting id have to import 1 to BC and id wind up settling for a newport/windsor/saratoga 4dr htop.
never expected to find another new yorker 2dr; my buddy had found a toreador red new yorker 2 years ago and we didnt think any more BC regi'd 1s would pop up again here.

UU1 Autumn Haze Poly - it looks like a gold/silver/light bronze/olive green mix.
the colour changes abit depending on the light.
pw, p seat, golden touch radio, passenger side mirror.
all the power stuff works - and the pw's are quick and smooth !
been in storage for 45 years until last september, floors & trunk are rock solid, little rust in driver's side rear 1/4 and the typical rust above the headlights. has 107k miles.
the 413 runs very smoothly and quietly.
it needs brakes, will be doing a dual master conversion asap.

we will go through it thoroughly and make sure everything is safe and reliable.

i have a swivel seat setup that will go in but not for at least a year.
i will repair the rust but havent decided if i want to paint it yet, the priority is the drivetrain, steering brakes, suspension and interior.

here's some pics on the ferry to Vancouver Island from the mainland

Nice Find…..

I believe you are aware that I have ALL the brake components for this vehicle & ALL the Front End
components— Suspension and Steering — for this vehicle….
New and Quality….

Beautiful car! Very nice find - I am jealous, you never find anything like this out in the Midwest. The quad headlights, the roof line, fins in the back - just perfect. The Astradome IP is a style and engineering marvel - I hope you take time just to sit in a dark garage to view and bathe in its luminescence glow. Remember all these good comments when your taking the wheels off those god awful tapered spindles and adjusting the brakes ; )

Great great car! What's nice is that swivel seat frame should just sit right down on top of that power seat setup after removing the tracks, at least the 59 works that way, I'm thinking 60 should too

we've started on the brakes, metal lines have been removed ( intact) for copying, new parts bought. everything is new inc a 67 drum dual master.
the rear drums are pulled, took quite a bit of heat and a big sledge hammer
i will blast and paint the backing plates before reassembly.
ive very lucky to have a buddy who knows these cars in and out, tbh i really wouldnt be able to do
much on my own !

I've never pulled rear drums on a splined axle vehicle. I've heard they could take quite a bit of work to get them off. I was always surprised that American Motors used them right to the end on their RWD cars. I asked a friend who had an AMC Spirit but he said they slipped off and the hub remained. I think Chrysler's last year was 1964 for splined axles.
