It seems that my1962 Imp front end needs rebuilding: There are some groans & clunks when going down the road and also some visible play in the steering linkage.

Plan is to renew tie rod ends, center link, upper and lower control arm bushings. Ball joints are OK and previous owner had renewed the sway bar and strut rod bushings.
Seems that Kanter and Berbaum are selling bushings and joints, any differences on quality? Or are there any other sources for these parts?

And any tips & trick regarding the rebuild is appreciated. Thanks.

Those are the cheap Chineseum reproductions —— is that what you want ???
Or would you prefer Quality ???

Those kits, such as those from Kanter are OK if you're in a jam, but those parts don't last. You're better off finding old stock, which are usually of higher grade materials. Craig from mobileparts (see herein) is a great source to get them from.

Rebuilding suspension on these big cars is money well spent, as if done right, it dramatically improves handling, and makes them safer to drive.

Good luck.

OK, thanks for the feedback. If quality NOS parts are available, great! I will contact Craig.

Craig can help you get a set together, he's knowledgeable about better-quality parts that have been made through the years. Even if not MOPAR parts specifically, the other manufacturers (usually US made) are out there as well. Takes some looking but they ARE still out there. Good luck.

I bought a US made set for my '65 NYer on ebay for $300. I let my local Mopar C-body guy do the re-build ($700) and all is good 10K miles later. Ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings etc.

For some of the parts, I've gotten new, USA-made parts from trusted brands (Moog, Timken) from RockAuto, but do your research. I've also gotten some parts (pitman arm, idler) that were definitely wrong even though Rock insisted they were correct. You can still return when that happens, but they make you pay shipping.
