I'm trying to learn more about my 1963 Custom.

Tag reads:
ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXYZ
22 4 5 5 6 223

I believe the car is very original, and it does not have many options. Here is what I think I have decoded so far:

A2 = 727 Automatic
B2 = Power Brakes
D4 = Power Windows
H5 = AM radio with power antenna, foot switch, and rear speaker
K5 = Heater (or rear speaker for above?)
P6 = ???
S2 = stone shields, wheel and still moldings
T2 = remote LH mirror
V3 = Night/day mirror, or manual RH mirror? (has both)

The above matches all the options still on the car. Does this seem right? I'm most curious about P6, because I can't find anything about the "P" column.

SO is 0130, which I assume is January? That would make sense, because it has 4-bolt valve covers, but the heads are drilled for 6 studs. I understand that was an early-63 transition.

Yes 0130 is January 30th.

The six bolt valve cover heads also have the rocker shaft stand cast into the head, instead of the aluminum supports around the rocker shaft.

I have prepared the attached decode report for the VIN & Fender Tags of your car, but I had to guess at much of the data. I can easily rerun it if you would advice the actual VIN & bottom line of the Fender tag. Photos of both would be best, but I can work from a transcription with spaces. I have concluded that P6 specifically stands for the code for the trunk light (426) and realistically it triggers installation of the entire light package--trunk, park brake warning, glove box, back door light switches in a 4-door and the map light. I have a reference that says V3 includes a tilt-type inside rear view mirror plus a vanity mirror. I've never seen a vanity mirror and assume it is just a clip-on mirror but could be built into the passenger side sun visor. The RHS rear view mirror was often added by a dealer but had a 491 order code from the factory. Any additional observations on the mirrors would be great. Merry Christmas for another hour here.
