1964 Imperial carpet

[64Imperial]

Hey I've run into problems trying to find a carpet for a 1964 Imperial Crown Coupe. Each carpet place I wrote online said that the mold at their distributors was either destroyed in a fire or it was damaged. Some have an option for a 65 but apparently they say it's different from my 64...

Is there a different? I thought the 64-66 had the same interior layout? If anyone knows please let me know so I can order or find a way to have it made.

I would try ACC (Auto Custom Carpet) in Alabama (at least I THINK they're in AL), they have always had the best selection, and good quality...……..I'd imagine there would be one mold for '64 - '66 cars, but have been surprised before.

Hey thank you for the company name! I did a quick search and they don't have a carpet listed for my year. I did write them though and hopefully they have an option!

ACC is the only company making molded carpet. If the online vendors are talking about their supplier, they are talking about ACC.

Well great.... lol but at least now I'll hopefully get an explanation on what's going on or if there really is a big difference!

I remember that ACC does NOT classify Imperial as its own make (on their website you have to select it from Chrysler as a model), and that the same stock# applies for ALL '65 - '68 Chryslers (including Imps) as they have it. This may well be fine for C-body cars, and may actually the same for Imps starting in '67, but I'd be amazed if the mold was the same on a '64-'66 Imp as it is for a '67 - '68 Imp.

I'd give them a call, and tell them what you have, good luck. Don't be confused by the re-sellers, you should call ACC themselves. Good luck. Depends on what color you have, but getting samples from them is worth the trouble/cost.

I checked the website, and ACC's listing for the '65 Imperial is incorrect.

As Imperialist67 stated, they are mistakenly lumping it in with the 1965 to '68 C bodies. The carpet they list for a '65 won't be anywhere close to correct for your car.

You'll have to make your own or have an upholstery shop do it.

I used marine boat carpet in my '64. $64 gave me twice as much as I needed. Some spray adhesive, and it looks decent imo. It's not pile or plush carpet, but it is thin and was easy to work with. I went marine because I always seem to be finding new leaks in my car, this hopefully dries quick and doesn't hold moisture if the car does spring a leak. Also, it was cheeeeaaaaap which is the name of the game for my 'restomod'. Few pics of in progress shots installing the carpet.

You may wind up with the same answer, but it would be worth checking into for the Imperial Club website. www.imperialclub.com, if there is someone out there besides ACC that may have a set for you, it would be listed there. There is a separate page for each year, and that would be a good place to start.

For seats im using power and heated seats out of an oldsmobile bravada. They need to be painted/dyed. I went with those because they have over the shoulder seatbelts built into the seat for a huge safety upgrade, and they were $40.
