I have a 1965 Plymouth fury sport and I purchased new brake shoes that matched the old ones 11x2 and they are exactly the same shape but were the pad is attached to the shoe is different and will not allow the drum to go back on. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Did you back off the adjusters? Is the parking brake partially on or the cables stuck?

Yes it has all new hardware and fits fine with the old ones. I called Sumit racing and jegs to try a different set and they don’t offer 11x2 for that car only 11x2.5

Make sure you read the factory service manual. Has opictures how it should be. If you don't have one, download from mymopar.com.
