Aging in the bottle means nothing. I've got 20-year-old Dewar's in the cabinet that has been in the cabinet for 10 years...still 20-year-old Dewar's!

Sorry, the Scotch was aged 40 years when purchased in 1969. It's probably good it is rare, I could like it....a lot.
