Since when did 66 383's have 906 heads? I wouldn't trust it either.
Cranks are cheaper than engines, easier to ship and can be inspected before machined and/or installed.My crank is junk, they are going to check everything else and hopefully nothing else is wrong.
Chances are good that it's a 383 to fit everything that had a 383 in it. With the 66 heads having the small valves, this would be a good thing.Since when did 66 383's have 906 heads? I wouldn't trust it either.
