66 Dodge Monaco

All 23k original miles.

440 engine with a four barrel Carter factory carburetor

This is the two door 440 powered hardtop (no B pillar) model - the most desirable in the entire Monoco series.

Power everything - including power 4 way bench seats in front.

Includes the optional rear speaker with fader

Includes air conditioning

Brand-new white wall tires

The car was gone over from top to bottom mechanically by a trusted classic car specialist. Carburetor was cleaned and adjusted. New valve cover gasket's and push rod on # 3 cylinder was replaced. New fuel pump, new brake hoses all around, complete radiator flush and the factory radiator was recored (to keep it all original), new fan clutch new thermostat. Anything that was even questionable I had him fix. No expense was spared.

The 440 runs and sounds amazing and has tons of power.

The car is in astounding original condition. interior is stunning - no rips, tears or stains in any of the upholstery or carpet - everything works. The paint is in excellent condition. No dents dings or scratches. Comes with the original hubcaps and original spare and all tools as well as factory Monaco shop manual.

The only thing that I see that needs to be replaced is the windshield wiper reservoir container.

This car was my father's pride and joy and has been garaged since the day he bought it with 3k miles on it. I no longer have any room to keep it and I'm looking for someone who can appreciate it and drive often it as it was meant to be.

Overall excellent original condition ready to drive and be enjoyed. A one-of-a-kind ready to drive beauty that you may never see on the market again.

Column shift Monaco's must have been a US thing. All ours that I have seen had Sport Fury interiors with a console.

That being said I have seen a 66 Sport Fury that was a /6 column shift but it still had the buckets and console.

I can't tell if this car has dual exhaust or not. It has the twin snorkel air cleaner, and with dual exhaust, wouldn't it be a 440 Magnum - similar to a '66 Chrysler TNT? I would love to see the fender tag.

The $18K asking price is wildly high. . .

Very nice, though the engine compartment needs a good detailing.QUOTE]

Detailing that engine compartment would be nothing but fun. I'd do for free plus materials.

1966 was the introduction year for the 440. I think a late production option. The 66 Plymouth FSM doesn't even list 440 specs.
All were the 350HP versions, the 375 "Magnum" came around in the 67 Dodges.

5% for the 4spd option is to low imo............
I would pay 25% more for a 4spd.

Yes. But. . . I think we determined in another thread somewhere, that the dual exhaust and double snorkel pushed the standard 350 HP 440 up to 365HP, hence the first Dodge 440 Magnum. Of course, we were talking about a '66 Chrysler 440 TNT. Doncha think?

You could have them with two 383 engines 270/325hp and one 440 engine 365hp.

I'd love to have that car! I don't have the money, so any price is too high, but I would love to have it none the less.

The 426W engine was still available in 66 and was rated at 365 HP. The 440 came in at 350 HP.

My favorite slabside Dodge - gorgeous! Very hard to find one with a 440 and those options, although a console would be even better.

What would you ask if it was yours...........

I would probably ask for $10 or $11K and let it go for $8000 or $9000 - if I really wanted to sell it. The car appears to be a No.2 or strong No.3 car, and this puts the car in an $8 to $10K range retail. A No.1 car tops out at around $15K. No. 1 cars are strictly trailer queen show cars which are never driven

Wil: Are these specs for the Dodge only? The same 440 option in a Chrysler indicates 365 HP.
