Hello everyone, new member!
Just picked up a 66' Fury III. Mostly original with 82K miles with a slant 6. Looking for general information. I've owned many classic cars but never owned anything mopar. Is there a way to decode the body tag? Where is a good place to find parts? I've found quite a few places but not very much C body stuff.

Thanks!

Welcome from another '66 owner! Yes, you can decode the fender tag either by posting a picture here or using this site: http://www.dodgecharger.org/cgi/f66.cgi
I have had success with it. The absolute best place you can find parts for these beasts is this exact website in the for sale forum. Please post some more pictures and tell us what your plans are.

Thanks for the info!

Id really like to just drive it to work occasionally for now, eventually id like to do a resto.

Heres some more pictures

Beautiful car! It's nice to see what it would look like stock. I really like the colour

Nice find and with the "leaning tower of power" to boot. Surprisingly the parts are hard to find but reproduction parts are coming on the market by the day. You should keep a running list of parts you may need in the future and if they come up on a web site at reasonable cost, buy in advance. Sleaze-Bay is a good place to start but shipping is a killer. Getting back to the 225, a buddy of mine had one in his car and as soon as it came off warranty, he put Amsoil in it. Only changed the filter from then on ( and difference in oil ) and drove it 230,000 miles. It's hard to destroy these engines, but changing the points is a bear. Gives new meaning to the phrase " lean on me". Had one in my 78 Dodge Aspen wagon that I put a 4 barrel on ( it was a Super Six) and drove it for 12 years and 175,000 and then sold it for a bit less than 1/2 what I paid for it. There's one born every minute I guess. If you're going to keep the car for a bit of time I advise finding an original shop manual for it and finding the most important pitfalls of the vehicle. This board is a good place to start. Welcome from Ontario, CA

Question, does anyone know off the top of their head if the transmission in a 66 fury with a slant six is a 904 or a 727? Getting ready to change fluid and filter, but Im away from home so I can't jack the car up to look.

So I got my carburetor back, after some tinkering she runs great! Next job is to remove the lowering blocks a previous owner installed. Currently there are no insulators between the axle and the lowering block. When I remove the block the axle will sit ontop of the leaf spring, the leaf springs then sets right on top of the shock mounting plate. Is that how it's supposed to be, are there no insulators between anything? I have a factory manual but there isn't a good picture or description of it. Thanks!

By "insulators", I think you mean rubber isolators. They didn't have rubber in this area until the mid 1970s for radial tires. So if you simply remove the blocks, you should be good to go. The next question would be whether the PO also tweaked the torsion bars up front.
