We had / have a member with a car similar to this one . Haven't seen of him in a while. This one like his is a beautiful car.

Like the Hurst 300s these Mobile director cars seem to have a high survival rate

I guess it is Dave’s car but I don’t remember his seats being redone like that(the reason I haven’t gotten mine done).
I hop he’s ok too. I can’t remember his screen name or I’d alert him.

The seats got me too. I also remembered him posting about building a reading lamp for it that I didn't see in the photos so I wasn't sure.

Ok, t
Compare the woodgrain of the tables between the vehicles.
Ok, it looks like the same table to me.
Take a look at the circled area on both pics, same pattern.

The sellers say they sell cars for customers, so maybe they are selling on his behalf? I must say I do not like that daft table thing ! means you have to get into rear via each door and only passenger seat has that motorised tilt I believe. Another reason to like 4 doors methinks

Saw another convertible for sale yesterday, it did not have any of the chrome/stainless trim on the front seats, all black ! never seen that before?

That "desk" folds into the center of the 2 front seats when not in use. So it would not be in the way of entering or exiting the rear seat.

I believe this was only produced in '67 and '68. Low production numbers. I think it would have sold better if Chrysler had produced it as a 4 door model, but I don't think it would have worked with the revolving front seat. I really like this one, I prefer '67 because I think it has better styling cues, especially the interior upholstery pattern which I think is beautiful.

That big tube does not look like it folds anywhere and seems to be attached to the floor :wideyed:

There is a guy I met at the Mason Dixon Mopar show in Western Maryland a number of years ago had one of these Mobile Director cars parked next to me and it was in excellent condition. It was an yellow Imp.

I have never seen a pristine one in person. The few I have seen over the years were complete, but pretty rough. There was one at Carlisle last year, restorable, but not in this condition, but like all others I have seen it was missing the tensor lamp, I bet that is worth some big $ if someone has one on hand.

So the base stays where it is ? impeding you from reaching the other side without climbing over it ? or can you pull it out a hole in the floor? I get the top folds and turns..

I don't believe the support post was removable, essentially making it a 4 passenger car. This was marketed as an executive's car, not a people hauler, I don't think there was any concern on filling the back seat with passengers.
