Here is a link to the OIC (Online Imperial Club) page which featured Dave and his Mobile Director.

David Schwartz' 1967 Mobile Director Coupe

It sure LOOKS like the one on eBay is the same car. I remember Dave was in poor health, and put it up for sale, then got better and decided to hold on to it. After the trouble he went to restoring the table it was nice to see him enjoying his Mobile Director, and I think it was featured in the WSJ. Not positive, but I think the lamp was a standard tensor lamp (popular in the 60's), with a different plug in that could be used with one of the lighters. At any rate, I hope Dave is doing OK.

Here's a link to a different Mobile Director that was featured in a magazine in the mid-90's, there are many photos, including the "blank off" cap that was used if the table/mechanism were removed. The original table/post could be completely removed.

Other than the Turbine car, that red interior makes this Imp "the one I'd "sell it to the devil" for......

I know a guy in the MD burbs of DC who has a '67 Mobile Director (yellow w/ black or brown interior) and the trade-off with these is that the table makes a much less comfortable armrest (or none at all when the table is in use) than what you'd have otherwise, so this way-cool feature DOES come at a cost for the driver......

At any rate, Dave has been a nice colleague on this list, and I hope he is doing well........

There is a guy I met at the Mason Dixon Mopar show in Western Maryland a number of years ago had one of these Mobile Director cars parked next to me and it was in excellent condition. It was an yellow Imp.

It sounds like the same guy I was talking to at Carlisle last year. He's from Maryland and owns a '67 Crown Coupe Mobile Director. It's yellow with a chestnut canopy vinyl roof with original paint and probably interior also.

Not a lot of leg room, so just how practical was this Mobile Director set up?, perhaps it would have worked better in a LeBaron, or better still, in a limousine.

Very Nice Crown Coupe, Great color too !
Regal Blue ? Only if they offered this option on a '66 Imp.

I guess it is Dave’s car but I don’t remember his seats being redone like that(the reason I haven’t gotten mine done).
I hop he’s ok too. I can’t remember his screen name or I’d alert him.
Matt, his screen name is imon_2nd and he was last seen on 9/11/18. His details say he's from Fair Oaks CA.

I did a search for David Schwartz in Fair Oaks, and there was a David Michael Schwartz in the 70s age group which is "probably" him should anyone wish to look him up.

Yep, that sounds like his car. I'll be hope in about an hour and I'll post a few pictures I have of his car from the Mason Dixom Mopar show.

Here’s a pic I have of the ‘66 version. Prototype I’m guessing Although it’s from a Chrysler International lit package if you notice at the bottom. No footsies going on here. The guy on the left actually has his feet up.

I think the Mobile Director would be more appropriate in a 4 door if you can get the front seat to rotate like the 2 door.

Here is the pictures of the Mobile Director I saw at th Mason Dixon Mopar show in 2012.

BTW, there was a 100% original Sport Fury GT parked next to me from West Virginia.

Yes, closer to normal now. Thanks for asking. On the other hand, "normal" varies a lot for guys 69 years old. According to my doctors, I could survive a few more weeks or years. Nobody knows. But, that's true of a lot of people. The important thing is to live as best you can while you can.
