1967 Crown Coupe Restoration

That's interesting info at the bottom there. That makes mine one of 964 without air.
my shop is very close to the action on Woodward, you should come by some time. I'd love to have a closer look at your coupe, is it roadworthy?
I have been wanting to call the original owners of my CC to see if they have any early pics or good stories of the car.

my CC is in NY State but when its ready it'll get moved here to MI and I will drop by your shop with it, take a couple pics and toss in the Forum

1 of 964. yep you've got a rare one there.

My first 67 Imperial, a Crown 4 door, had dual ac units. Now I'm being punished, because my new 67 LeBaron doesn't have it at all! LOL. Guess I'm in that 964 group also. Wonder how many LeBarons were built without air. Hmm. Can't wait to see some more pics of yours when you get her home. Keep us posted.

What's it doing in NY?

What's it doing in NY?

used to live there and acquired 2/3 of the "fleet" while there. own a large climate-controlled building there. work transfer brought me back home to MI.

most of my resto team (i dont have much resto talent myself beyond routine things so i need good guys who know this old stuff) is in NY too, as its tough to find good interiors folks, guys who work on carburetors, etc.

now that I am downsizing the fleet when i finish them, i move to them to MI to drive awhile (for a couple of years) then sell them or return them to storage in NY if they dont sell.

when i get a MI building I can afford after the herd thins, i'll have all of whats left here.

What do you do for a living? I rent about 4,000 sq ft in north Royal Oak for my furniture business and car habit.

just a "working stiff" brother.

been collecting cars for a long time tho..just cars from the American Big Three (had a Javelin once tho..couldnt save it). i still have stuff i bought when i was a junior at Cass Tech about 100 years ago (it seems).

I used to be in the OEM car business...little fish in a big pond. now running my own company...big fish in little pond. keeps me outta trouble. :happy3:

What kind of interior stuff are we talkin' here? Dash work, upholstery, headliner? We know ah guy out toward Coldwater that consistently haz carz that he'z done the interior for on display in the Cobo Hall show in February, rite Matt? I know ah guy in Rockford, Il. that's the whizzard of the Carter World too. Hey, He'll even work on Hollyz and stromburgz if your pocketz are deep enough. BTW, A belated Welcome to the party Amazinblue82, Jer

thanks for the heads up and the welcome. i know there are good people here in MI that work on old cars, and they do a good job at fair prices.

most of the interior work i need done tends to be the typical things some restos need..particularly seats and headliners. i always can use paint and body work, and of course mechanicals of all types all the time.

when i consolidate whatever i have left here in MI I will be looking for help locally and calling on folks like you for recommendations. thanks!

There's definitely some talent here in the Detroit area though I'm not sure who you're referring to Jer, I don't make it to the Autorama. Only twice in 45 years.

Mike. The "quit yer bitchin' and I'll do the stichin" Guy out in the boondockz that I introduced you to last summer when we did that chase for Dave! BTW, Me too on the twice in 45 yearz!

another question for someone with answers please?

these wheels were on the car when I acquired it. the top row had "F" on them and the bottom row...a different looking construction tho still at 15" wheel, had "R" on them (not factory markings) written in paint pen. The bottom row also looks like the spare wheel in the trunk.

first, is this correct design configuration for the '67 Crown Coupe or did somebody just lose a couple wheels over the years? second, if correct design, why would Chrysler do this?
:sSig_thanks:

The top 2 ventless rims are from a fuselage Imperial, I believe. My 73 had rims like that.

He's local but the car is not, at least not yet...
Hemitheus(love the name by the way) you joined the board in December of 2010 and you're just now joining in, what gives?

There's a story to be told and it has something to do with an arroused interest in '67/8 Imps..
