1969 300 CONVERTIBLE CARPET ISSUES

What did you use as the gray primer? And how did you prep the pan before hand? I have wire wheeled all of the rust and seam sealer off. The wire brush seems to have “spread” the goo out over the surface of the pan. I’m going to use acetone to try and remove the film before painting. Any other suggestions?
The original floors on the CHP cars were not painted body color and just had the primer. I just used a 90* rotary tool with a 3" sanding disc and knocked down the surface rust and the bubbled paint in the grooves. Any seam sealer that was not flacking stayed.

Everything was washed (soap and water) sanded and rattle can self etch primer

Went over it again with 320 and cleaned up any issues.

Shot it with PCL Polyprimer

Followed it up with rattle can Trunk Paint just because.

At no point were any solvents used, I didn't touch and seam sealer that didn't want to come up with a sander. New seam sealer from a calking gun was used in some areas.

This is likely a moote comment. I used rust bullet primer then the white Tremclad gloss paint to prepare the floor of my Polara
Finally added the sound deadening before laying down the carpet.The same brand as mentioned in earlier comments

I was happy with the results
