I look at that gorgeous hunk of real iron and for the life of me I can't understand why Fusies (in general) bombed with car buyers. I was 18 when the Fusies came out and it was love at first sight that never went away with me. Consumers in general are stupid and clueless.

My NYB is my wife. A Fusie would be my mistress and a Slab would be my high school love that I meet up years later with at a reunion and share old memories until dawn.

At this stage in my life, my NYB is the right car for me. I can never see not having one now.

It's not easily explainable but I doubt that there is anyone here that doesn't get it.

Yeah, that is a sharp automobile that's for sure. Exactly why I am and will always be a fuselage guy. Massive yes, but the proportions just work so well. Plus there's nothing like sitting behind that long wide hood with a powerful 383 or 440 underneath it.

383 ...? In 71 You could "step up" to the 360 and not be bothered with that little 383

If that damn distributer wasn't at the back of the block where it doesn't belong, I might like it better.
Don't forget I started out racing a SB!

Really nice colors. I can't quite make out what is written on the trunk lid.

I agree with you, Stan, regarding the Fusies. I was 12 when they came out and liked them immediately. I remember that one of the things that I really liked was the radius at the top of the windshield reveal molding - don't ask me why that small little detail jumped out at me. I know some people at the time found the side windows looked too short but I always thought they looked good. They certainly looked big, but everything was big back then. The one aspect of the styling that I thought needed a rethink was the length of the trunk section, because long hood-short deck was coming into vogue then, and they did address that on the '70 Dodge.

Now there's a fusie that I really like! Great color combo.

I agree....compared to similiar cars made by Ford and Chevy......Fusie styling is just over the top to me.

Really though the last thing you expect to see when you pop the massive hood is a small block engine with day light all around it. Just doesn't seem right....maybe today it works cause the 5.2 liter 318 is considered a big motor now.

No big fan of vinyl tops on fusies though, just does not fit to that "crease line" along the rear quarter windows which is cut off then. But still a sharp color combo.

If I ever get one, the first thing that's hitting the dumpster is the vinyl top.
But then I've got to deal with all the holes left behind from the trim.
Which means removing part of the interior to weld them.
Then might as well block the whole car for a good paint job.
And since you're doing a complete paint job, you see the seals and the window fuzzies are shabby.
And then the chrome looks lousy with the brilliant paint job.
And while you're unbolting the bumpers you see the rear leaves are sagging, so...

Many times it's the color combo which make or break it.
True for 'verts, too.
