Vinyl tops are problematic....usually a good hiding place for corrosion underneath seams. Plus it was a passing fad... albeit you can still get a vinyl top on some cars even today. If I had a choice....ditch it in favor for the hardtop exclusively. No use for Vinyl anyway except aesthetic reasons.

To me ............4 door Formal NY'ers look odd without a vinyl top.

Yes, NYB I agree. Some cars don't look right or look better with the vinyl top. The vinyl top on your NY'er compliments it well and indeed would look odd without it. I think that might be due to the designers envisioned your car with the vinyl top from the very beginning, as opposed to a customer option/add on. I think my car would look much better without it's vinyl top. and in fact I've been thinking about removing it.

Just my 2 cents.....I think all 2 door C's look better without a vinyl top. There are exceptions....that recent 2 door Newport with the vinyl top looked great.

The era where vinyl tops adorned literally every car that left the dealership make a car w/o the vinyl look refreshingly cleaner.

Here's something that's about as rare as they come:

I like the way the Coupe's look without the vinyl!!!! Do you have a picture of that car from the rear?
