So, I'm half considering buying this truck. Any thoughts on these in terms of reliability, parts availability? It's got a straight 6, which I'd probably like to upgrade at at some point.

I like the patina on it. I'd probably just replace the rockers and sections of the floor and restore the interior and keep the exterior as is.

I say jump on it like a fat kid on a cupcake!! I would be sure the mechanicals are good to go and drive it like it is.. I would even keep the mighty 6.

Parts are not hard to come by and the old slant six is bulletproof, as long as it runs and drives i would say it is a no brainer. I don't normally like those older trucks but that one does look sweet.

Three Sweptline forums are out there, plus at least five FB groups. There are repop sheetmetal parts to be had. Prices are going up significantly on these trucks, especially over the past two years. Brakes and mechanical parts are easy to find new or used. These are not Chevys or Fords, so don't expect to pick up a catalog and order a new truck from parts. There are at least five excellent parts vendors that cater to the Sweptline/Utiline trucks. I've owned 17.

I'd be on that like stink on $h!t! If you get it and need parts.......................................................................................................................................................................................................... Oh look at what this nice guy did for you.

I had two of those. A 62 and a 67. I really liked both of them and almost bought one of them back.

Great trucks, simple as simple can be.... But... Before you buy it, drive it. They aren't like new trucks. They rattle, ride hard, don't handle very well and and about 1000 turns of the steering wheel "lock to lock". If you can handle that, grab it.

I love her... as much as I can a short truck... not right for me, but I'd still love to have her.

I'd keep the 6, unless you just have to have a drag truck... even then I'd be inclined to think about the 6 and stupid power adders... but that one seems to good to muckup to me.

A friend of mine just picked this one up. I’m happy to welcome him to the mopar family. He got it for a good price. Needs work but he said he’s got to drive it around the block a couple times. I dig it

I have an old '73 D200 truck that I use infrequently to pick up landscape stuff, lumber, drop off scrap metal, yank out a rusty subframe, etc. I probably don't add 100 miles in a year. There's no reason I couldn't do the same thing with one decades older. I get a compliment every time I take it to the Home Depot about 2 miles away.

It's more like a wheelbarrow for me than a "classic", yet I love the way it looks just sitting at the back of my driveway... like a good ol' dog waiting for me to give it a pet.

I guess that's my thoughts on an old truck. I have zero desire to soup it up, add an FM radio, etc.

You have approximately the perfect truck IMO... I love the color, and the basic specs are right... A/C?
