It's not sold. I own 23 classic cars as stated before. Putting a car on consignment gives it ha home indoors for 6 months for $395. If it sells so be it. If not when it's not 100 degrees I get it back. It's actually a smart business decision. Several of my vehicles are there now. Some sell and it gives me capital to buy others. I like cars. I'm retired and it gives me something to dd. Several people here I have stayed in contact here are now my friends. I've passed 3 imperials to friends here at Zero profit. I like the c bodies but I prefer my b bodies. J/S

Since it still is yours, would you be able to manage the asking price?

For ~20K dollars nobody will buy it as the the two tone paint was not available to any Fuselage Imperial and in 69 upper body side moldings with paint inserts were the only option for side trim (only in 70 either nothing, accent stripes or body side moldings with rub trips were available, but 69 only moldings with paint and 71-73 with vinyl inserts were installed), let alone that it is a 4dr.

That'd sell for about 10K at the infinite max, but that's just my 2c.
 
I can still manage the selling price. But I'm sorry I would have no interest in selling it for anything near the 10k price. I had the car shipped from Washington enclosed. Bought some things for it. Fixed some things that needed fixing. So yeah I own it over the 10k Mark by far. So did I pay too much??? I don't think so. There few and far between. I'm still ok with the car. I like it just not as much as some of the other ones and at the moment i have no where to put it. So I'm doing just fine keeping it where it's at at the moment. In 6 months we will be out of hurricane season. It won't be 100 degrees out. So driving it may be a bit more enjoyable. Nice riding car. Didnt get as much attention as I thought it would going down the highway. For now it's got a safe home, concrete whare house, is detailed nicely, gets wiped down once a day, started daily. I'm good.

No, you didn't, but mind you that the prospective buyer may also have to count shipping fee atop the selling price along with license plate(s) and so forth. With a high asking price without the possibility to lower it makes the final payment higher than what you paid for it.
 
I think it's pretty good decision doing it that way. If you have limited space and need to to rent storage space for a car that is not your favorite one why not letting it sit at a dealer for a few bucks having it listed for a high price. Maybe some one shows up and offers 17k for whatever reason and it's a good deal.

I doubt someone will buy it for 17k $$
I wouldn't pay 10k $ for it either

Take 100 people, at least 10%of them are idiots,makes 10 people of which astonishingly 20% have money they can spend on useless stuff. So about 2% of mankind are stupid but have money though.. He just haS to be lucky to have one of these come by the showroom and happen to like the car..
 
I'm not commenting on the price itself, but I try my best to eat the transportation costs I incurred. I wanted it, I got it, that's on me. I'd hate to pay twice for a car I transported once.

I get it, there are people who pay lots of money for something they want
Because they have lots of money and it's not worth the time or aggravation to hunt one down. For the people that don't have money the dealer offers financing that I can't. Having as many cars as I have had and have now it's hard to keep them all going alone, let alone work on them. I like them but have learned not to love them. If someone pays the price, I give it up, find something else, I don't need the money, that's not why it's there. What's nice is I need not worry about it for 6 months. My heart grows fond again to take that highway ride. Then put it away again drive something else. It's not a bad deal. If I had it in my garage by the time I got back to it it would probably have flat tires, a dead, battery, bad gas, and need a detail. LMAO True!!! This way It gets rotated amoung others. There all taken care of, and for a few bucks there safe and sound and always ready.

Yep it makes sense someone buys it, fine if not, I don't care, I drive it some more, and bring it back later. It's still mine. LoL I'm telling you. If you have the money it's a good way to own many cars without the storage. I have a pole barn and it's full. The ones that would otherwise site outside or pay storage on go there

Well I think it's a damn nice car. I'm into it for over 10 k. I wouldn't doubt anything. They are few and far between.And there are people out there who have way more money than any of us

I think of it this way. If I pay sight unseen and ship a car 3000 miles to my door it's a gamble that a lot of people would not take. Now the car is in a different market where it may be possible for the same person who wanted to be able to see it in person with out taking the risk I took. That's worth something. If the car was within 500 Miles and that person simply didn't want to take the ride. I agree. Transportation should not be charged twice. Just saying
 
Can someone please show me a 69 as nice as this for sale for 10k? I'd like to purchase it immediately.

Here you go, it's a 71 though... and given the fact it's mostly original with original color repaint I think it's even nicer, but those are just my 2 cents

follow the craigslist link, it´s listed for 7800$ which is a realistic price for a 4 door Imperial fuselage.

The 71 is my least favorite model year though, I don´t like the headlightcover styling with the Imp logo in it. The 72 / 73 style frontend
is much more impressive when it shows up in the rearmirror
