I don't think that would have helped.One cold morning I got brave and pulled the drivers seat out and disposed of it but it still stunk like nobodies business even with the windows down for weeks.
Funny thing was after I had it around for a few months I was using a torch to cut some stuff out of the way to pull the engine and it caught on fire and the almost new extinguisher I had on hand didn't do a thing.I didn't have any water either and the van burnt to a crisp which got rid of one bad smell and replaced it with another.

After it burned the smell of death plus burnt rubber, grease etc, pretty close to the smell of Napalm in the morning.
