Hub caps are from a 1966 Chrysler. Unfortunatly I don't know if it even would have been a W23 kelsey hayes wheel car but there is no broadcastsheet.

I was wondering about that.... It would seem that a pilot car as well equipped at this one would have also had the recalled road wheels.

It is one gorgeous Sport Fury..... I love the red,red white conbo.

What is the price? I notice the pictures show the temporary registration for Germany. Have you ever run the Fury through the TUV inspection?

Hi,

the plates on it are collector car plates. The car has been to the TÜV inspection and is classified as an collectible automobile.
The Sport Fury has a Georgia title from 1980, that is what it came over with in 2007.

I think so, too but unfortunatly have no way to prove it :-((

Carsten.....
Have you ever looked for a broadcast sheet in the car....? There are several places to look for one. It would be interesting to see if it was equipped with the rare wheels.
Chrysler historical may also have some info about the car.

That's a beautiful rarity! I agree the '69 is a bit homely compared to the '70 and '71, but that is an exceptional car!

Good point Will, A stand out car like that may have a history
They were able to supply me with a copy of the original DATA card used to assemble my 61 Fury as well as a complete breakdownof the codes on it.

Hi Will,

I looked once till a certain point. It is not in the front buckets (bottom or back), not underneath the glovebox. I have not yet pulled the rearbench personally. Carpet has been swapped by past owner and the seller said there was nothing in the rear bench.

Hi Will,

thanks for the idear with Chrysler historical. Officially they only have documents till the 1967 model year but it doesn't hurt to ask if they have something. Talked about the car with Barry from Hamtramck-historical, too.

Carsten, you might try the back of the rear seat backrest.....that's where my sheets on the car i just bought and one of them from my '69 300 were. note the location from the pics i posted in the she's here thread. you may even be able to see a good part of the back from inside the trunk with a good flashlight.

I found a decent sheet in the rear backrest of my 300 also. It's not that tough to access and would be a great asset to the car if located.

I recently obtained information on a, (supposedly), one of none 1970 Road Runner that verifyed it was built and never delivered to a dealer..... from Chrysler historical.

Talking about that 440/4 RR I guess ? So they could confirm it.

OH this is too good not to share.
Talk to me, bro.

I'm still hurting from this one........It slipped right through my fingers.

I posted it here before the facts were known..... I recall you refering to it as a rusted piece of scrap.... Or something along that line.... lol

Yes, about everyone was sceptic about condition and originality. Anything new uncovered from the early history of the car ?

Refresh my memory of that 1 of 0 rusty pc. of scrap that slipped through your fingers and now I wish I had paid closer attention to when you originally posted about it....

I have right of first refusal on a 1 of 51 car. Damn guy's still sitting on the fence after six years.

It's a 1 of 1 as of now.... But who knows what else is out there. The whole thing still kind of depresses me.

The story....... A friend, (same fellow who painted Jazebelle), while quoting a paint job on a fellows old dodge pickup spied the 70 Road Runner sitting in a neighbors front yard. Asked about it and was told it had been there for a long time and might be for sale. Knowing how I liked Mopars he told me about it and gave some vague directions..... Took me three attempts to finally locate it on a dead end road way out in the country, about 5 miles from my place.

I got the owners name from a neighbor and called and left several messages before he got back to me. He knew nothing about the origin of the car....His brother had bought it 15 years earlier from some unknown person and it was passed around the family and a friend ended up with it. The friend passed away a few years ago and the current owner bought it so the family could afford a funeral. It had a 70's vintage 440 in it then which he pulled out to install in his 66 Belvedere II which he still has. He never regestered or drove the Road Runner....... It sat where I found it for several years.
He thought it was originally a 383 but knew nothing of the whereabouts of the original drivetrain. He put a price on it that I thought was a little high so I thanked him for his time and let it sit for awile.

Continued.........
