were the pinstripes on the sport fury optional? don't see them here. is that a rust spot behind the right skirt? hard to tell. also, i parted out a sport fury like this with a 318/727.

Yes the pinstripes were optional.

Here's the data tag on the Admiral. The D31 code backs up what the broadcast sheet states.....

Hi Will,

thanks for the tag. It clearly shows the D31 (904) trans while Peter has the D32 (727) in his 69 Monaco with the 318

I kind of like having a 318 in the Admiral. It's been pulling down 20+ MPG on the average, great for road trips, which is what I have it for. I'm anxious to see how it does pulling the old camper to Florida next month, seems to have plenty of power for the job.

I may not get there first..... but I'll get there. (It's the journey).

I don't know why, but I thought the Admiral had a big block. . .

I've seen a lot of wagons with 318's. Like Will said 20 plus mpg.... was a great selling point to get families in to wagons back in the day.

You can see from the tag it was special ordered with P/S, P/drum brakes, A/C, and some extra trim. And is a radio delete car. I don't know why a 727 wasen't specified.

The broadcast sheet shows "extra wide trailer towing wheels" also.

Nice interior with a console. Too bad it doesn't have a BB and A/C.
Still a very stunning car!

I had to stop reading B.A.T. a long time ago just for that reason.

So.... Lakeland Lash is pimping that one now, eh?

Yep, that's a shame Lash has it.

$12k bid and the reserve hasn't been met???

I bet he didn't even pay $5k for it....

According to a couple of comments he is one of their favorite posters because he finds the really rare stuff. Go figure I guess

It is a pretty barren tag.

That is a typical EARLY style 69 Windsor tag (Aug - May). They have very little info. They changed coding during the model year. The 'LATE' tags have a lot more info on them

AFAIK that is a 69 Windsor special. There are no options on the tags.

Carsten

Again, that is a typical early 69 Windsor tag. What was coded varied by plant. 69 Windsor coded only the basics early in the year and added more codes late in the year.
