"Sampling man"...I would have gladly gave the 70 to someone, if they paid for the shipping of both cars. That would have been an awesome deal for me and for whoever stepped up to the plate. Nobody did...surprise, surprise.. C body guys don't want to pay. Its sad but true. So, I had to pay for the cars, and the shipping. Oh well. Now they are both on the east coast. It doesn't matter how long it takes to sell. I don't care what you guys write on here. The commentary is entertaining to say the least. Plus, the comments bump up the ad to the top. As for the price... you have to start somewhere. Wherever the price is set, someone tries to cut it down. Will it sell for 4500...doubtful. Will I start there to get as much out of it?...Damn right. Is the car nice? Damn right. I will be working on it in my spare time to get it to run. I think with a carb rebuild, it'll run as is. The art of negotiation is lost. I always start at a number and have a rock bottom. There is a lot of wiggle room in between. Its up to the buyer to pay what they are comfortable with. So, with that being said.... make an offer on her. Or maybe I'll get my money out of parting her out?? Johnny.....

Well, good luck then. Just some friendly advice on how I would market and sell the car to get the maximum bid.

cheap? expensive?
It all depends on the point of view, circumstances and details.

There was a 70 Imperial 2dr on ebay lately, sitting in Colorado, it seemed to be in nice shape, pretty rot free, running and driving with a decent interieur. Here is a link to the aution

compared to theat car the golden one looks rough and expensive for 4500$

But then think of our user VDK (Julian). He paid 4.500$ for a less rare 69 Coupe in maroon/burgandy, not running but being from the eastcost with rust and mildew.

Compared to his car the golden one looks decent.

Finally: Good luck in selling the Imp John. I hope you can get it running, it will make it easier to sell it. I hope the car survives.

Carsten

Thank you Carsten. I would also take money off the sale of the 70 for a parts car with a complete, great running and driving 440 and 727. This would be for a donor for my 69 Imperial. I need a tilt/tele column for it as well, so a 69 model with that would be a bonus. Food for thought. Thanks guys. Johnny

You should get it running, its a great car! One of our young members with the survivor '66 300 that'll be in the survivor building at Carlisle only wants 5K for it and its a driver in seemingly beautiful original condition. Granted, that's a smokin' deal but it's also currently what you can get on the east coast for 5K.

John, I think you have a fine car; however, I offered to ship your 69 for the 70. You were very gracious, but you finally found shipping. As I live in Oregon, I would have taken the 70 off of your hands, but, that is water under the bridge. Good luck on the car, and I hope you do sell it without the title.

You don't need a title in NY man. Just a registration....easy to get. I think that's a great deal for the 66.....if you like that style body. I personally do not. I love the fusie style though. Someone will buy it. I really don't want to part it. I'll do best realistic offer on it. I really just want it to be driven again. Johnny
