I dont know, bench seat car and the level of restoration was not to the standard of the other car but still Tracey did a great job with it. He too won some first pace trophies at Carlisle.

Can we now assume the untitled 300 is now dead in the water?
I've totally lost track on what has made the cut.

no, it's not, but the owner cannot show me the car this weekend. He said he might have time next sunday, it is the only possible day he can show the car. There is a 383-4 polara that is for sale in NJ that I have known about, just starting to think abt it again. Price is more in line with what I can afford, just not a floor shift or tilt wheel, both of which I really want. Has the right engine though, and pretty nice body. That and the one dave posted the bunch of pics of are both for sale, just not actively, so they prob aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

i have this asinine idea that my dream car is going to show up before I get to old to drive it. The red 300 fits the bill, just costs more than my wallet will hold. That's my car life, a day late and a dollar short.

On the other hand, the 383-4 polara is a driver, which would be a lot easier on my mind putting the kids in it.

NO!!!! Assume nothing is out of the question with Mark. You can also assume that Mark will never buy anything.

I'll cut Mark more slack than you.
I still go by the philosophy that the joy is in the jouney. Not the destination.
Hell, I can see this thread eventually becoming epic.

Trouble is he doesnt seem like he is enjoying the journey. He becomes aggravated and frustrated, throws his hands up in the air and looks at Chevy's.
You can cut him more slack than I. I have been dealing with Mark on a more personal level than this board for , what Mark two years? :poke:

the first email i sent you was wed, nov 17, 2010..........that's what started the death ride for you.

actually, that's not entirely correct. I also look at Fords, Mercuries, Pontiacs and Buicks as well as MOPARS. And don't forget, I like some A/B/E bodies too.

I love all makes, models, and years too but WTF do you WANT!?!?

69 300 convertible

Hey mark, Remember that 69 300 convertible in NJ that you passed on....?
While you've been agonizing on finding the "right" car, I've been busy with that one.
I paid a metal fab guy to repair the little rust issues it had... the correct way. It's all metal now. Painted the original R6 red. Upgraded the interior where needed, detailed the engine and trunk compartments.
I drove the car for the first time today... 130 miles and everything works great... and it drives like a dream.
I've got a whole lot less money invested in it then the cost of that 70 and I think it's probably worth as much.
Just a thought.... Find a decent car and make it your own... We'll all help out anyway we can........ (JMHO)

Couldn't of been said any better. Make a decision and buy something...

Will: That car is absolutely DROP-DEAD gorgeous.
Congratulations.
And EXCELLENT advise, too.
I know "my" '67 Newport does not exist. But I have no problem taking the right '67 Newport and making it "my" '67 Newport.

first a 70 polara, second a 70 300, must be a rag and BB

Not quite the only limitations... Rust free, must have a console, lower mileage, you'd like to have tilt wheel, cruise control, power locks, power windows, road wheels, fender mounted turn signals, the HP version of said Big Block, no scratches, no chips or swirls in the not green paint, new tires, perfect top, am/fm radio, carpet must be flawless, all lights must work, belts and hoses must be in pristine condition, no grease or oil on the engine and front end components, no leaks and its gotta have a sure grip and most of all it must be selling for under nine grand.

Have I left anything out?
