Wow I could really really use that for the ev2 car but it is so far away shipping would kill me as it would be at least $800. Anyone out there have a rust free front stub out of a vert I could buy instead??

Bluefury361 you dont happen to have the front stub off that 300 rag for sale? I have decided to roll my ev2 vert out and get the resto going on it. I had thought I would cut out and box the bad frame rails on it but would love to get a stub instead to keep it more oem looking.

I think Will parted what he could out of that rag and scrapped the rest, but he may still have it. IIRC the stub frame from any 69-71 polara, newport or 300 will fit, and maybe even from a Fury, will have to check my interchange. Should be no problem finding one with a diff body style being usable.

Yep, thats what happened. I tried to find a home for the stub frame and the dutchmans panel, but no takers. It went to the scrapper with a good deck lid to, but not much else.

Here is the thread with tons of info on this topic.

http://www.forcbodiesonly.com/mopar...?13927-1969-1971-C-body-Stub-Frame-(subframe)

I got lucky finding one from another member here, it was out of a 1969 Polara.

That car is worth 2 grand all day long. If he advertised it for 1000 you guys would cut that in half too..... Cheap c body guys.

Now I keep getting more and more confused as I have the front stub off the hurst 300 parts car I can use but based on this article it will not work on a 70 rag?
I would hate to pull both subframes out and have the car on the rack and then it does not work. I want to throw this out there (mostly to polara71 as he knows the car the best). Am I completely stupid to consider cutting out the frame issues on the back part of the frame and boxing it in as I had wanted to run a set of connectors back to the rear rails to strengthen this car up some. Will that kill this car if it is done very cleanly? I know in the B and E body world ANY welding in on the underside is a killer but to us C body guys (as I am converting!) is it that big of a deal. We love the cars for what they are not as much HOW perfect they are. But I don't want to do it if everyone thinks it will kill the EV2 vert since it is a somewhat special car. Any input is greatly appreciated as I am going to get rolling on this car shortly to get her back on the road by spring with new powerplant and paint.

If it's been around for over 2 months on CL and the forum, it's over-priced and from what I hear it's missing a lot of parts (why no pic of the front end??). Not cheap, just know what we will pay for stuff and will wait for the right car at the right price. E and B body guys ran the price of their cars through the roof with all the "RARE 1 of ___" crap for all these years, it just doesn't translate to the C body, sorry. Dude, you've chimed into every for sale thread on how cheap we are. You are starting to sound like Dan. Just saying.

Just trying to put this in perspective, what is an "EV2"? If it is special, wait for the right stub, it will come along. In a few months I will have a rust free, but slightly kinked one from my 70 Vert, but I'd guess that would do you no good. Look for a 1969 Polara 4dr, 2dr or station wagon, it will fit. Stay away from 1970+ hardtops with the Torsion Quiet frame, they will fit with mods, but essentially "wrong" for the application.

My EV2 orange vert is a polara 440 vert that is one of the only real high impact color 70 verts made let alone a public relations 2 fender tag superlite 440 car. So it is a pretty cool car.

In that case I wouldn't mess with the stub, find a replacement. BTW, what exactly is wrong with the stub?

It was soft from rust and someone use a swing arm hoist on the old girl and the weight crushed the frame upward. I am going to start a "formal" post in the resto section next week when i get new pics of it so you can all follow its progress. How bad is the ding in the stub you have? And how long till you would have it out?

I know of two other 1970 Verts in EV2 hemi orange.

You "chimed in" on my ad. Im allowed. That car looks rust free to me. Yes the paint is shot but quarters look solid. Its worth 2 grand all day. If it has a big block.... Bonus. My fault man. I comment when I see the same 3 or 4 dudes bashing other peoples stuff. I'm not saying everyone on here is cheap. But Cheap C body guys are on here and you guys better look in the mirror....

Hi Mark,

the second 300 CV is in California.
Also a EV2 car but a T-code (not u-code).
It is a project car, too but the real deal. Also white top and interieur as well as white stripes.
