That's hilarious Bryan the look on his face when he gets hit with that big ice block priceless:yaayy:

In my experience most 4-speed 67/68 C-Bodies have manual steering and brakes. Did Chrysler restrict these options? Also has the inner fender to firewall braces only found on 4-speed 67/68 C-Bodies.

I saw the braces and wondered about that. Thanks .. another thing for Aidan to think about but shouldn't be hard to fab at all. The short one looks like a B body fender support brace.

I'm a little surprised by your statement that in your experience most 67/68 4 speed C bodies had manual steering. Did you have the opportunity to drive any 67/68 C-Bodies AND late 60's B body's to contrast the low speed or parking lot/city driving steering difference if any?

Not surprised as in don't believe you just surprised people would order a higher priced or perceived higher class car w/o power steering. I'm not really surprised at a lack of power brakes.

A lot of folk bought manuals back then because they still thought automatic transmissions were witchcraft. They probably thought the same about power steering and brakes. I once bought a '73 Newport from the original owner that had every option EXCEPT power windows and sunroof. (Seats, Locks, Alarm, 440, SG, etc.) I asked why he skipped the windows and he told me "What if I drove off a bridge and the windows shorted out when I hit the water?!"

I miss people who were afraid of tech. Contrast that to 2015 and most sheeppeople could care less if their TVs spy on them or if their car can be hacked.

I can't see how that little rod would be of any benefit being bolted through a sheet metal inner fender.

The manual steering, manual brakes are an easy thing to change if that's what's keeping you from considering this car. I've never seen those 2 braces, brackets ether... but I've never looked at a 4 speed car close up...

We're you ever looking? Sometimes the obvious is under our nose
The real question should be how many factory 4 speeds have I seen and examined under the hood.

IF it is supposed to be there, the only reason I can possibly imagine is to help prevent firewall flex fron the clutch pedal. Stab in the dark but it is all I have.

Who here has a Slab factory four speed?

Somebody pull out the FSM. I can't I'm at work

I don't doubt Hergfest though. Sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

I was going to check but I can spend an hour searching the stupid Parts Book looking for body parts without finding it. Trying to find thzt brace in the book is like looking for a pin in the haystack and I don't possess the concentration.

The real question was asked. Regardless of how many you've seen, 1 or 20.... we're you looking for a 12" brace that you've never seen before?

Assuming factory it is to prevent flex and movement for sure.
