No, I m not sure you' d be happy. You've had three nice convertibles and weren't happy.
Agreed, Mark don't you have to ask to be admitted to the group?
Agreed.
Related question: how much are we looking at to properly fix the driver's seat?
Maybe it's time for more of my story, then. I admit to my brevity a lot of times.I can't let that go.... but she wasn't a project, she was a driving work in progress.. there is a difference.
And, I understand
And 2018 came faster than I thought
Sorry, that wasn’t directed at you, just FB in general. Thanks for the link anyway, maybe I will join the group.I guess that is the way it works, its not my car, I don't run Facebook and that's not my Group. I was just sharing where I seen it listed in case someone was interested in it.
Dave
if theres sonething about seat, ( other than needing original material which seller says he has), then i missed it.
my biggest issue was unobtanium rooof grain which seller confirms he has as well.
anyway few of us have chosen for the record with a value guess ..interested in hearing more guesses from other folks.
thx
With all due respect to Chris, who does great work, there are other shops out there that do great work too. Having been in the biz 35 years ago, I will take my project to a point in my driveway and the find the right guy to finish it, or rent a place and paint it myself if I have to.
Dave, what car were you going to have done?
I sent the owner a message on Facebook about this thread and asked him for his email in case anyone on here was interested. I haven't heard anything back as of yet.
I was reading over the previous threads and looking at all the pics.....it seems to me its a car worth restoring. The seller states that he does have a bunch of NOS and a Gator Grain roof to go along with the car so that really helps it. It is a pretty special car that I think would be a very satisfying project for somebody when completed. As with any project you need the time, money, experience and the space. Any of those four are missing and you have a project like this in limbo for years. This car just needs to find the right guy to get it done. I don't think the $9k asking price is too out of line...in the end if you got it somewhere between $6k and $9k I think you'd hardly even notice with the money you'd have into it.
If this same car showed up but was a super nice survivor with 50,000 miles on the clock is it a $30k car?
Or this same car with a high quality resto....turn key....today...would you be able to get $30k for it?
The guy who buys this one will have a passion for C-bodies and want something a bit different. He is that guy who doesn't worry too much about the financials.
Can't be too many cars like this left to be found....most of this production run is long gone!
Dave
I knew the owner of this car up until just a few months ago - at least and it appears to be the same one with autotemp and everything else the same. He did have a ton of NOS parts that were with the car. I guess he decided to sell it to this Lee Meyer then. I would have to contact my friend to be absolutely sure though, but I really doubt there could be another one with the same options as this one and with all the NOS parts. He also lives in California, up in the high desert in Southern California. If someone really wanted to know the condition of this car, I could ask him for more detail. I am really busy this weekend though, so it would take me some time to connect with him.
I have one virtually identical except mine has the white vinyl top and no auto temp, just regular a/c. Actually, I am a little surprised my friend sold his. I might well put mine up for sale too. Haven't decided for sure yet. Too many others on my to do list is the only reason.

I know of another 70 Monaco with a factory 440 and a V1G gator roof, buckets and console in excellent condition (totally restored). The car has won several trophies. It is in the US and can be had for a price in the upper 20s. Car is not advertised. In case someone is serious: feel free to contact me and I connect you with the owner.
