1970 PLYMOUTH emblem question

Did the letters on the hood originally have black in the centers? If so mine is long gone and I need to pick up a black paint pen and color them in. Thanks.

Not sure Tom but i had black in the ones on the original hood and just chrome on the new hood with the power bulges. Both were 71 hoods! Go figure

Thanks. I'm going to give the paint pen a shot, as the letters are in otherwise nice condition. But, if they don't turn out well, it's nice to know I have an option.

I used a black sharpie and then a shot of clear coat.
I saw a eBay listing for a hood and tossed in a bid for $5 figuring nobody would buy a hood and pay the shipping and handling. I won the auction and then asked the seller if he would send me just the letters and keep the hood for resale.
