This one is worth every penny. Too many have passed through here, verbally ripped apart and become organ donors because no one acted. Please, if there is a lurker here consider the banter a seal of approval and dive in. Largestar, please post more pics!

Why don't I give you the vin number and fender tag and you can run down the numbers. Then post back with what you have.

Huh? One of 8 known is a simple statement. Run what numbers? Bill is the Fury guru. He's located the 7 or 8 known. Are you suggesting that's all there ever was? You run the numbers since you said one of 8 and prove you findings

Why , because of the 440? Nonsense ...they all can't be 440s. For the money grief and aggravation I'd much rather have Carmines Fury, a 318 4 door hardtop. A turnkey car I could drive tomorrow.

That's really apples and oranges. Obviously, to someone looking for a turn key classic this one isn't it, but since it is a real 440 Fury vert, its worth the asking price for a decent project, especially since there doesn't seem to be too many around. My point is that we tend to condemn these cars before they have a chance to get picked up by the right buyer. My project has caused me plenty of grief and aggravation but I'm loving every minute of it.:)

I don't understand the vibe from the site on this particular listing. It seems like a pretty straight car with some rust, a 440 (does it spin?) and yes a project that is priced fairly. I realize few will take on a project like this, but it seems fairly represented and nothing unreasonable to me. I hope he can find a buyer. I would have preferred an original black car, but at least it is a black interior and not another white convertible interior with red exterior. The fact that it has few options does make it much easier to restore too. Best wishes largestar.

I like the car, not the attitude that goes with it

To my knowledge you have never seen this car in person, if you don't have anything credible to add move on

You can do what you want. The ad accurately describes what it is and is not. Anyone that was interested got about 30 pics sent to them, including the fender tag. Yes it is a factory 440 car. I believe it was originally red. It is complete. As the ad says it's a project and the price reflects that. I wouldn't consider it a huge project but I can see where some might. It's a 1 of 8 car and priced fairly. If I don't move it soon, the driveline will be rebuilt for a b body and the car will be crushed. Lastly. The car is 47 years old and a convertible , with a big block for under 2500. Of course it needs restoration. However the level of work it may require depends on who buys it

I like his attitude, he is making an effort to offer it for sale so someone else can save it.

Im not feeling his love for the car just his obnoxiousness

I guess I am impressed that a B body guy would make a strong effort to save the car since it is fairly rare and interesting, and since he is a new member it appears, I would just be inclined to give him more slack. Yeah, there is some roughness around the edges with some of his comments, but I can overlook that given his intent and let it pass by. Other B body guys would just take the engine and let it die, and then we would complain that he should have tried to save it. It seems to me we often want things both ways. The guy is trying sincerely to sell the car, having 30 photos to offer up, so despite some detectable attitude, I would just give him a pass and try to encourage others to consider it rather than state what we can all judge for ourselves, and thereby set off a negative mind set of the car for everyone else early in the thread. I can see from his standpoint that he is wondering why wouldn't these guys see things more positively and help him out? I guess I am just the kind of guy that is slow to anger and look for the good in people as a priority. Things just work better that way in the long run for all of us it seems to me. I also do like the car and view it as special and I have a similar 69 Dodge Polara 500 vert with the 440HP, but with more rust than this one, and I too would like it to be saved since I probably will never get to save it personally with all the other cars I have. So there is empathy from me from that standpoint too.

Relax, This is an unusual forum. We don't coddle and embrace too many for sale ads. That said, thank you for saving/trying to save this car... I like it. I'm not the one, like many here, I am dealing with limited resources and this is not my "gotta have it car".
Let's talk. I have many b bodies as well and a warehouse of parts
:welcome:
If you don't run off angry or butt hurt from the initial beating your car received, I think you will find lots of Mopar lovers here. Most of us like non-C Bodies too, but love our C Bodies in particular. We seldom bash a member's car, but it was posted prior to membership and we get lots of flippers who just pass through thinking this will be an easy sale location. The chances of finding "the one" to buy your car are good at your price, which seems fair to me... even the negative remarks are helping your publicity.

I'm not buying, but I'll ask anyhow, is the "clear title" in your name... That matters to some of us. Good luck with your sale.

I don't think he ever got lashed on. Look at it, what was said is for the most part true, it needs a lot . Did anyone here say it wasn't worth saving? The price is fair ....The defensive attitude is B.S.

The rust on the tag and repaint would make this one you would have to look at in person and see how bad the underside really is. This area of the country it is in just ate away the bottoms of cars and that tag rust is making me think she is probably got a few gallons of bondo in her long ago and covered over with the black respray but I might be wrong. hopefully I am but you can see so many spots of rust pimples coming out that I bet she is toast on the underside. Damn shame though for a car like that.

Just an observation on it, should the tag be riveted down on it? I know the polaras were but are the furys a screw down tag not riveted? Looks like they just sprayed over the tag too so it would not have been removed.
