I got my engine mounts made. Next big step is making the oil pan.

I'd leave the stock valve covers and save the $$$. Looks fine...paint the set up Chrysler blue and you're set!.

I like this kind of hot-rodding, finding cheap stuff from salvage yards and making it all work.

I would keep the valve covers but the bolt pattern is different than the viper heads

That's why I was asking. I've done a few conversion plates and I've bent the crap out of a few pairs. Won't be any problems with 1/2"!

Just picked up this stock V10 I will be using as my starter engine. Picked it up on CL Chicago for $450, 100k miles with the trans, all the accessories, computer, all the power train and under hood wiring. Came out of a 2500 that was hit in the rear and totaled.

Started making the oil pan. The stock truck pan is a rear sump and as you know the C body is a center sump. I decided to cut and section the stock 383 pan onto the truck pan. The V10 has a 7qt oil capacity so after I get the main section made I will add a section to the sump to make it deeper.

Finally got back to working on the Plymouth. I got the oil pan and pick up tube made and on the engine. Also got the motor mounts installed.

Tonight I spent 4 hours trying to get the engine and trans in the car but I didn’t have enough clearance with the engine and trans together. All I needed was an inch for the pan to clear the k frame but couldn’t get it done. Adding 2 inches to the pan made it to tight so I’m going to install the trans first and drop the engine in. Hope to get to it tomorrow.

Fits like a glove. 3/8 in at the gear box on the driver side and 1/2 in at the upper control arm on the passenger side.
